I received some very exciting news last evening that I'm a grandpa again. Oh, bless the Lord. Jonathan and Charlene have a little baby girl. Two boys and now they have a girl. And, you know, I was thinking about the miracle of creation of an individual being created in the image of God, formed and knit together in the womb by Almighty God. And what a miracle that is. You know, not only did I receive the message, but, you know, in today's world, I even got a picture. Well, it's pretty small. I won't try to show it to you from here. But, you know, it just, you look at that perfect little baby. The eyes, the nose, the ears, the mouth, the fingers. Perfect. And I thought of the miracle of how we are formed and created as a human being with all of these things. I even saw a picture where she had her eyes open. The eyes, the mouth, the brain, everything. Fingernails, hair. Brother Jim, how many hair does the baby have at birth? You know, I think that greatly varies because I think some of our children didn't really have hair at birth. I think you could see a lot. But, you know, some were later in coming with their hair. Now, they all have plenty of hair. But for me now, I'm going the other way. My hair is starting to recede and decline. But, you know, the greatest miracle is that this person, not only has a physical body created in perfection, but a soul created in the image of God. A soul. An eternal soul. Wow. Bless God. I just wanted to share that this morning and have you all rejoice with Janice and I in the joy of grandchild. You want to guess how many we have now? No family members first, okay? How many grandchildren do we have? Anybody want to guess? 22? You're too low. Oh, that's a little high. It may get there yet. Which is number 26? Is that correct, Janice? Right? Number 26, yeah. And I also had to think of this. I didn't choose my birth location, or family, or era of time. Those things are beyond our choice. And I just thought, what a blessing. Now, now, please hear me here. This might sound a little boastful, but what a blessing. She's a hearst. She's a hearst with a rich heritage. Wow. I thought of myself. You know, we had some folks that we encountered that were just so full of pain, and hurt, and dysfunction, and bitterness, and broken, and, oh, cursing. You know what I thought? You know what? If I would have been born into that family and that home, is that where I would also be? Brothers and sisters here this morning, many of us sitting here, we have a rich heritage. We had Christian parents who believed the Bible. They believed that this was the Word of God, and they sought to live by it and to teach us. We have a rich heritage. But, you know, if you're here this morning as a first-generation Christian, God bless you. You can pass on to your offspring, your children, your grandchildren, a rich heritage. Where they can say, truly, the lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yea, I have a goodly heritage. But, you know, no matter what our heritage, we must all be born again. We must all be saved from our sinful nature that we are born with. Yea, all have sinned. Oh, what I was just boasting in about, she's a hearst. Yea, but you know she's a sinner hearst, just like I was too, and still sometimes am, and fail and miss the mark. But, oh, thanks be unto God, there's salvation, there's mercy, there's redemption. No matter who we are, whether we're of those Jewish descendants and have a godly history behind us and an understanding of Scripture. Oh, Paul, in the book of Romans, so clearly concluded, all under sin, whether we be Jew or Gentile, and all in need of a great Savior. I wonder how many times the Scriptures teach us that we ought to remember. We ought to reflect and remember both the blessings and the goodness of the Lord, and we also ought to remember. In Revelation, in the warnings and the admonitions to the seven churches, we hear these words repeatedly. Remember, remember who you once were, and remember how thou art fallen. Remember, and turn back to God, and repent. Remember. You know I had to think of how we are such forgetful hearers. We're going to have a little review this morning. We had a week of meetings here, just a week ago now. Concluded last Sunday morning with Brother Jerry, from Ohio, sharing with us the Word. You know, I was just thinking, there's a reason that God says, Today, if you will hear His voice today, harden not your hearts. Today. Jesus taught us that when the Word of God is sown, and we hear it. I remember Brother Jerry bringing out, as he began that week of meetings on Monday night, He said, you know, I'm going to bring the Word, I'm going to preach the Word, but there's going to be various soils here. There's going to be hard soils, stony soils, thorny soils, but oh to God that there would be some soft soil as well. That the Word falling upon that soil will fall down into the soft soil, and it will take root there, and it will grow, and it'll bring forth much fruit. There'll be fruit coming forth. He gave us the example of the house where I stayed when I was in Ohio for a week there, with Brother David, how they wanted to put in a garden, and Jerry went over with his tillage equipment to cut in a new garden, and he said, you know, I had to go over it three times. The ground was just very hard. I thought of all week preaching, Brother Jerry pouring his heart out, preaching the Word of the Lord, and I couldn't help but ask myself the question, is there hardness? Is there hardness of soil here? Is there hard ground? Jeremiah the prophet was given a charge from the Almighty God to warn Israel of impending judgment to come if they do not repent, and as he cried out and gave warning, the people hearkened not unto his word. They hardened their neck, and they wouldn't hear the Word of the Lord. They did worse than their fathers. The warning of the judgment of God to come, he spoke some very terrifying things of what would happen if they wouldn't repent. Terrible days to come, because the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord. They have set their abominations in their house, which is called by my name, to pollute it. They have caused their sons and their daughters to burn in the fire which I commanded them not. The carcasses of this people shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. Many more things we could touch on from the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah gave us these words as a picture in nature of the gravity of the situation. He said in Jeremiah 8 verse 20, The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. Would you stand with me for prayer? Father, we come to you this morning, asking Lord that you would be merciful unto us, be gracious unto us, cause yet again here this morning an outstretched arm toward us. Like you say in your scripture, your arms are yet outstretched still. The opportunity of grace and the doors of mercy are yet open still. Father, I ask in the name of Jesus, wash me in your precious blood from all my own ways or own ideas, all my pride or fear or own good ideas. But oh, Father, please anoint your word to each of our hearts. Father, I ask in Jesus' name that there wouldn't be anything in your servant that would cause to offend, would cause someone to turn off their heart from hearing your voice. I acknowledge, Lord, that I'm very needy, and it is not within man. I can't bring any conviction or salvation, but I'm wholly dependent upon you, and I yield myself to you. And I ask, Father, that today you would visit this branch. Jesus, you are the vine. We are the branches. Father, I ask that you would speak to every heart, mine included. In Jesus' name, amen. You may be seated. We're going to just take a little review here this morning. On Monday evening, Brother Jerry brought the message. A sin unto death. We looked into the scriptures concerning Ananias and Sapphira. We looked at how Ananias and Sapphira were basically first-class hypocrites, pretenders. They were liars. They were deceivers. But they were religious, and they were in the company of the believers. Are you a liar? Are you a hypocrite? Are you a pretender in the company of believers this morning? Ananias and Sapphira spurned the grace of God, the opportunity to confess and repent, and to come clean and become honest. They had a portion of land and sold it, and they agreed together to make it appear like we're giving all of those monies to the church. Bring it to the apostles and cast it at their feet. The Holy Ghost of God exposed their sin, and Peter, full of the Holy Ghost, said, Why has Satan filled your heart to lie? You have not lied to men, but you have lied to God. You know, here this morning, lying is very serious. The Scriptures tell us in Revelation, where Jesus concluded the message and the warnings to the churches and men of all the things that shall come to pass, and He said, There's going to be this great separation. Those who love God are going to be forever in His presence. But all the pretenders, all the hypocrites, and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire. All liars. I thought of it this morning in this way. Today, by God's grace, we want to hold forth once again the mercies of God and the goodness of God that leadeth us to repentance. And today I want to again sound the warning and make the request and urge you to repent. Today may be for you the day like Sapphira, Ananias' wife, one more opportunity to get right. One more opportunity to humble ourselves and to repent. But Sapphira said, when questioned, Yea, have you sold the land for so much? The pride of her heart, the bond of iniquity in her sin, she lied. She lied. And she said, Yea, for so much. Peter said, The men that carried out your husband and buried him, their feet are at the door. They're going to carry you out also. I want to say here this morning, that if we lie against the Holy Ghost, if we lie against the truth, and we love not the truth, the feet of the deceiving spirits of God are at the door to bring death and darkness into your life. You may not die immediately, but you surely will die spiritually. You surely will die. Tuesday night, Jerry talked about the simple message of follow me. No man, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom. Follow me. Take up your cross and follow me, says Jesus. Some here have declared, I have decided to follow Jesus. I gave my heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ. Some have made that declaration in days past, maybe months past, maybe even years past. But today, your testimony is not clear. Your life's testimony is not clear, that you're a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your life's testimony says, I love my life. Your life's testimony says, I love the things of the world. I say these things to warn you, that your blood shall not be on my hands. The apostle Paul said, I have not shunned to declare unto you the whole gospel, the whole counsel of God. And henceforth, I am free from the blood of all men. You know, I wish I could just give a Thanksgiving message today. I wish I could just say, hey, let's just have a Thanksgiving service. Let's just have testimonies of what we're thankful for. But I've asked the Lord over the years, I've begged God, Lord, make me a father. Give me your heart, oh God, for this congregation. Make me a father who will love and minister faithfully. And I know I haven't completed it in all perfection. I'm well aware of that. I've had many failures. But I beg God and I ask God that my heart might beat with a passion for the salvation and the well-being, spiritually well-being of this congregation. Have you put your hand to the plow? You made that declaration. I have decided to follow Jesus. But today, your heart is taken up in carnal pursuit of the things of this world. You spend more time on social media and watching movies and being entertained than in being in the Word of God and being in prayer. Jerry said, I have a question. When I was in Bible school, we had an anonymous questionnaire put out to the students of how much time they spend in prayer. Do you remember the answer? And these were Bible college students. Remember what the answer was? When they got all the questionnaire back and tallied them up, what was it? Five minutes. Then he had this question. He said, I wonder if we take a toll, a survey right here of this congregation and tally it up what the answers would be. You know what the answer is for yourself. You don't know what the answer is for the person beside you, but you know what the answer is for yourself. I say these things this morning because I love you and to warn us, including myself, to warn us that we do not deceive ourselves into thinking we're something that we're not. Follow me, says Jesus. Today is the day of salvation. If you hear His voice, harden not your heart. And don't deceive yourself thinking of that one little song. I love you, I love you, and that thou dost know. But how much I love you, my actions will show. How is it, Jesus, that you'll reveal yourself to us, but not to them? Oh, those who love me shall be loved by my Father. And we will come in unto them. We will make our abode there. And we'll have fellowship. Are you one here today that you need to repent of your lusting after the world and you're a spiritual adulterer? Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God? I must say this. We live in great deceptive days. We live in the end of the days of the falling away. Yet with the profession, just like we heard this morning in our lesson, a profession of I love Jesus, I rarely ever listen to the radio. I just don't do it. But in the work truck that I was driving the other day, when I got in it, the radio was on. And so I left it play a little bit. But the one thing that stood out, there was one piece of good truth that came to my ears. And it was a warning about those who say they're Christians and they gloss over their sins. They'll shoot. I almost hate to say this. It's grievous. I'll water it. I'll be careful how I say it. They do adult film type things claiming to be a child of God. Entering into lustful, immoral things. And yet claim to be a child of God and say, oh, yeah, these churchy people. They just want to condemn you and push you down and try to make you feel like this is wrong. But Jesus knows who I am and He's accepted me and He's the one who gave me this gift of being an actor. Be not deceived. The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. The unrighteous are not going to heaven when they die. The wicked shall be cast into hell. And many, many will say, but Lord, Lord. They came to Jesus and said, are there few that be saved? He said, strive to enter in because whence the master of the house has risen up and shut the door, there's going to be many outside. When's the evening sacred or secular? Mark 11, 11, the fig tree. Jesus coming to the fig tree that had many good leaves on it, but no fruit. Is that how my life is sometimes? Is that how your life is? You know, there's this appearance of all these leaves, all these religious exercises, all these things that I do like being in church Sunday morning at Charity Christian Fellowship. But when you look for fruit, where's the fruit? Thursday evening, a beautiful message. The serpent on the pole. Oh, look unto Jesus, ye sinners. Oh, look unto Jesus, you wounded and broken and bitten by the serpent. Look unto Jesus and be saved. Friday evening, oh, great boldness. Have the children of God. They are anointed with great boldness and courage for the Lord because their conscience is clear. There's no condemnation. Hallelujah. I'm in Christ. Christ is in me. Great boldness. Saturday evening, the day of the Lord. The last days. We are in the last days. The end shall come. Sunday morning, hindrances to children's conversions. A message straight to the heart of us dads and moms. You know, it's not right. It's sin for fathers and mothers to be divorced in spirit and heart. God hates divorce. It's sin. It grieves the heart of God and it will destroy your children. Hindrances to children's conversion. When I'm a first-rate hypocrite and my children know it, I'm one thing in front of the other believers and then I'm another thing behind the closed doors when it's just my wife and I and my children. That's the fastest way to discourage your children. That's the fastest way to put up a roadblock for your children's salvation. To be a first-rate hypocrite. It's going to be a great separation. The day of the Lord. You know, this morning, I just want to hold forth the Word of Life. This may be your, Sephara, last opportunity. This may be your last opportunity, young man. You that mock your father and your mother. You that rebel against your parents. This may be your last opportunity. You that are going your own way. Running in carnality. Drinking immorality. Rebellion against your parents. This may be your last opportunity to repent. Brother Robert told me this morning, sometime over this weekend, a young man. I don't know him. I didn't ask his name. Who he was. Who he is. But it was mentioned about drinking was part of his life. And he went out and was killed at age 21. Is there anybody here who can verify that statement? Besides Brother Robert. Does anybody else know about that incident just this weekend? Is it true? Have you heard it? It's true? 23 maybe? 16? On a motorcycle. You know, I was just thinking. I hope I do not have to look into the casket or the coffin of the body of a 16 year old whose life testimony speaks of eternal damnation. That would be awful. That would be very grievous and hard to bear. Think of a mother and a daddy looking into the coffin of their child. When there's question marks all over. Well, we think maybe he was born again when he was 12. My time is up. And they have to grab for straws to find some comfort that maybe my child is in heaven. Young people, don't fool with your life. Don't play games with your eternal soul and your eternal destiny. You've decided to follow Jesus. Glory to God! Follow Him. And let your life testimony declare repeatedly I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. There shall be no doubt when you look into the coffin. I am with Jesus. Live so, my brother, my sister. I call you to repentance today. Fathers, mothers, children, youth, grandpas and grandmas, I call us to repentance. How sad! My time is concluded. I won't read what I was considering maybe there. But I just want to say again what a tragedy if all those words that were shared for that entire week, we heard them but were like a man who looks in the mirror and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was or is. Jeremiah was lamenting. I've warned. I've preached. I've begged. Now the harvest is past. The summer is ended. And we are not saved. For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. May the hurt of the daughter of my people hurt me. Hurt us. If you're saved here this morning and you have an open heaven over your life, may your heart be hurt. For the hurt of the wavered and the sinful, the proud, the rebellious, the hypocrite, I am astonished. Astonishment has taken hold on me. Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? Oh, that my head were waters and mine eyes a fountain of tears that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people. Some of us that laugh now shall weep then. Some of us that are asleep at the wheel, drunk with the pleasure of this life, drunk with making more money, with materialism, shall awake and weep, but too late. Did you hear the voice of God throughout that week when Brother Jerry was preaching? Would you harden your heart? Today, my dear sinner friend, is yet an opportunity again today. And I urge us and I call us to repentance. Oh, it would bless me so if some of these who said, I gave my heart to Jesus six months ago, a year ago, but today your life speaks that you're halting, you're going around in circles, you're playing with the devil, with the devil's devices in this world, your testimony is not clear. I urge you today, be a man, be a woman, and stand up and return to the Lord Jesus. Return to Christ with all of your heart. Come running to Jesus and make confession and repentance. He will receive you today. That is in mamas. If you know, my life is marked by hypocrisy. I rule my family out of pride for my own reputation. I put the law down so that I might look good in the eyes of my children. But I myself am a hypocrite. I urge us today, today is the day of salvation. I urge us to defeat that old devil. And the way you do that is to get honest and real. A good and an honest heart. That's all that's required. And every one of us can do that here today. I urge you, I implore you by the grace and mercies of God and the goodness of God, you humble yourself, I'm going to ask you to come forward, to kneel here before the Lord, not before me, but before the Lord, and to be honest. You see, I have sinned. I'm a sinner. I'm a first-rate hypocrite. I have said I love Jesus, I have said I want to follow Him, but my life declares I love the world and I love myself. I urge you today, defeat that work of the flesh and of the devil, and come forward here and humble yourself before the Lord and before the congregation and find grace and forgiveness for your heart before it's forever too late. Father, I ask in the name of Jesus, I ask, Father, that this would be a day of salvation here at Charity Christian Fellowship. I ask, Father, that this would be a day of deliverance. I ask, Father, that this would be a day of strong conviction, of the Holy Spirit of God. I ask, Father, that there would be conviction of sin, that sin would become exceedingly sinful. It's not right to be looking at pornography. It's sin. It's not right to be fighting with my wife. It's not right to be arguing against my mom and my dad. It's not right to be rebelling against my parents. It's not right. It's sin. Father, I ask in Jesus' name, would you visit us with your salvation? Would you grant us the gift of repentance and honesty here this morning? Jesus, that you would be glorified in our lives, that we would be saved from our sins, washed in the precious blood of Jesus and redeemed. Come right away. Come right away. Don't delay. Just as I am. Without one need. All that thy blood was shed. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/TxAc9z4EgVo.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/aaron-hurst/the-harvest-is-past-and-we-are-not-saved/ ========================================================================
