======================================================================== THE THREE HUNDRED BLEW THE TRUMPETS by A.B. Simpson ======================================================================== Summary: To be used by God for mighty works, we must be willing to surrender our wills, trust in His goodness, live consistently, and obey His commands. Topics: "God's Power", "Obedience and Surrender" Scripture References: Proverbs 18:21, Isaiah 40:29, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, 2 Corinthians 10:4, Ephesians 6:10, Philippians 4:13, 2 Timothy 2:21, James 1:19, 1 Peter 5:10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A.B. Simpson emphasizes the significance of our words and actions, warning that even small missteps can hinder our potential for usefulness in God's plan. He highlights that while God uses the weak and foolish, He desires us to grow in strength and wisdom after His calling. Simpson illustrates that just as an electric current needs a proper conductor, God seeks fit instruments--surrendered wills, trusting hearts, and obedient lives--to channel His power effectively. Ultimately, even the weakest among us can be made mighty through God when we align ourselves with His will. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We little dream sometimes what a hasty word, a thoughtless speech, an imprudent act, or a confession of unbelief and fear may do to hinder our highest usefulness or turn it aside from some great opportunity which God has been preparing for us. Although the Holy Spirit uses weak men, He does not want them to be weak after He chooses and calls them. Although He uses the foolish things to confound the wise, He does not want us to be foolish after He comes to give us His wisdom and grace. He uses the foolishness of preaching, but not necessarily the foolishness of preachers. Like the electric current which can supply the strength of a thousand men, it is necessary that it should have a proper conductor, and a very small wire is better than a very big rope. God wants fit instruments for His power-wills surrendered, hearts trusting, lives consistent and lips obedient to His will. Then He can use the weakest weapons and make them mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. ======================================================================== Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/ab-simpson/the-three-hundred-blew-the-trumpets/ ========================================================================
