And the cry of their heart rose up. It wasn't even in words, but it was
a heart that was crying out and groaning. And it says this, it came to
pass in the process of time that the king of Egypt died, and the
children of Israel sighed out by reason of the bondage.

And they cried, and their cry came up to God. And the Lord heard their
groanings. That's the groanings that Stephen describes it, that's used
there in Romans 8 about groanings, which can't be uttered.
