======================================================================== THE ANTIDOTE TO WORLDLINESS (CLIP) by David Ford ======================================================================== Summary: This sermon emphasizes the danger of being a friend of the world, which is equated to being an enemy of God. It highlights the need to not love the world or its sinful attractions, as loving the world can indicate a lack of love for the Father. The message discusses the worldly temptations of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, presenting the antidote to worldliness as being born of God and overcoming the world through a genuine spiritual rebirth and walk with Jesus. The sermon illustrates that a true transformation by the Holy Spirit leads to a change in desires and actions, akin to how a changed life reflects a new nature. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Whoever will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, and it goes on. And the antidote to worldliness, whatever is born of God, overcomes the world. So the antidote to worldliness is being truly born of the Holy Spirit, truly born again in your walk with the Lord Jesus, and walking with Him. And here's the principle, when the Spirit of God lives in you, for example, I go into every bar and drink as much as I want to, but you know what? I don't want to, because there's been a change in my life. Paul mentioned a while ago he likes to hunt. My brother here likes to hunt. Just a little quick story, and I'll pass this on. These guys like to hunt. They're hunting, but amen. But if Paul went out hunting next Saturday morning, let's say he's home, and gets up and goes out at 4 o'clock and finds his hunting stand up, they're gonna do some deer hunting. He comes back in about 10 o'clock. He is covered with mud. It has rained all night long. He has mud on his boots, mud on his clothes, mud on his hat, mud on his arm. If he walks into his house, walks through his living room, dropping mud everywhere, slides down the hallway, smearing mud down the walls of the hall, goes into his bedroom, and sits on that nice beautiful bedspread in his bedroom that I assume he has there. If he doesn't hear his wife go, Paul Walsher, what in the world do you think you're doing with all that mud in this house? It only means one thing. She ain't home. She's not there. If you think you can live in the world and not hear the Holy Spirit of God screaming out, no, no, no, no, it only means one thing. He's not there. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/kzzb-GonTV8.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/david-ford/the-antidote-to-worldliness/ ========================================================================
