Thank you, blessed Savior, that in fellowship suite, we will sit at your feet. As we think of the quality, quiet moments with you. And from hence, O Lord, in sitting at your feet, we will walk by your side in the way. We want to ask this morning that it has pleased you, O Father, to set your counsel for each and every one of us. Each and every one of us has a definite purpose for being sent on earth, for coming to the earth. Each and every one of us, O blessed Savior, you will want us to stand and to cause that your will be done. To our Father, blessed be your name, for in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Please be seated. We read Hebrews chapter 10, verse 5 to 10 yesterday. As we consider that there is a cancer for us, and that man discovered it. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the perfect example, the pattern with which God will deal with each and every one of us. The path, the way that is to follow. He discovered it and showed us the way he discovered it. And as we must execute the counsel of the Lord, we conclude that each and every one of us must know that counsel over his life, definite, particular, and we walk in it. So when we read that scripture, as we pray with that example this morning, trust in the Lord that in the simplicity of his words, he will lead us to his desire for each and every one of us, in Jesus' name. Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he says, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not, but a body hast thou prepared me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices foreseen, thou hast no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come. In the volume of the book it is written of me, to do that we, O God. Above, when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering foreseen, thou wouldst not. Neither hath pleasure therein which were offered by the Lord. Then said he, Lo, I come to do that we, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which we, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Christ once and for all. Amen. It is simply to draw our attention, to remind us that our Lord Jesus Christ discovered why he came to the earth. And we did say yesterday that if he, even he has to discover it, has to take definite steps to discover it. If even for him it was not automatic. If even for him it was not a question of just knowing automatically what the will of the Lord, what the counsel of the Lord for his life was. Then we see that we have to also be diligent to discover the counsel of God for our lives. And as we check, now he discovered it, we noted that it was because he spent quality time with the Lord, with the Father. And I see the Lord inviting us as we sing today in a very sweet fellowship. Where we will sit at his feet. And what he says we will do. And where he sends us we will go. Never fearing, only trusting and obeying. I just pray that we are rising as it were from this meeting. Not only discovering the purpose of God for each and every one of us, the established counsel of the Lord for our lives. But going forth to say what, to do what he says as we trust him and we obey. His counsel will be established, will be executed in each of our places of work, of business, of operation. In Jesus name. So very quickly we saw yesterday that he met and astonished a very, a counsel, he discovered a counsel that shook the foundation of all that had existed before now. Before that, before now, before his coming. We noted yesterday that it was God himself who established as it were by the ordinance. And if in that one you discover it was not, it was not. It was down the law of God wherein was offerings and sacrifices at the will of ministry and forces. Had to be up for 40 days and came down. In the course of his coming the law was pretty. He broke it and the law said you must eat. So again even to get the law, it was that mercies had to spend. So even in establishing the law, in establishing the matter of sacrifices and offerings. We just want the Lord to help us to note that in our pursuit of what God wants us to do. We cannot be a casual generation of God's people. We must be attentive. We must praise him. We must as it were know how to deal with the law. Nothing divided, nothing coming. Like NIV for verse 6 very quickly. Who has an NIV? The burnt offerings and sin offerings. You are not pleased. Are you getting me? Are we together? Sir? Yes. In burnt offerings and sacrifices of sin, you have no pleasure. You don't know. I said yesterday you don't know what Jesus was saying to the priest. That he stood before the high priest and said look, all these things that you have been doing, God is not interested in them. In fact, you are incurring his displeasure. Any time you came dragging an animal here, sweating, sweating by the fire and you came for thinking you have done something. Let me tell you, God had no pleasure in this. But then it is how he discovered. That is our matter of devotion and prayer this morning. He said then, verse 7 now. Then I, Lord I come, in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do the will of God. Praise the Lord. How he discovered. And let me tell you, as verse 7 is put in King James Version, in the old King James Version. It was as if, it was as if Jesus just remembered as he was discussing with the father. He just remembered that let me add the way I discovered in the bracket. Let me put it in bracket. He was going to skip it. Are we together? You see in the old King James when he is saying, it is written of me in the volume of the book. That is in bracket, isn't it? In old King James. As if heaven simply just concludes that every child of God should know it. Every child of God should know that in the volume of the book, the will of God, the purpose of God, the counsel of God is established for him. It is written concerning him there. But I thank God that, I thank Jesus our Saviour that he quickly remembered. He was about to jump it, isn't it? Is that not what the bracket meant? That even if it was not written, he never destroyed the sentence. Am I, are we together? But then he said that he discovered it in the volume of the book. Listen to me, sirs. He didn't say in the volumes. In the volume, in the volumes of the books. He is referring to one book. Are we together? In the volume of what? The book. I want King James English now. Don't follow another version. Now, when he said in the volume of the book, he is referring to one particular book. Is that not so? And that book is in your hands now as you are sitting there. Let me see the book that Jesus is talking about now. Praise the Lord. That is the book. As if heaven concludes that anybody who is holding that book should know, should discover, should know the counsel of God over his own life. So, but I wanted you to know that he said in the volume of the book. So the book is in a volume. He didn't say on the page of a pamphlet. It is the volume of the book. Which means, and you will note the counsel of God, which means the Lord Jesus himself, he had to search. He had to study it. He had to search diligently from page to page. That which was written concerning him. So, there is none of us, therefore, that God has led to himself. That there is no particular thing that God wants him to do which is outside the book. I want you to note it. I want you to note it. I want you to say it because it is very, very, very crucial. Let me make that statement again. That there is none of us here. Even if I were speaking to the whole world, I would have still say it. That there is nobody who has come onto the earth. That the purpose of God for his own life is outside the book. Do you want me to say it again? Because some of us are doing things that are outside the book. Are you my intimidators? Well, I don't know what. Well, maybe visions. I'm not saying God cannot speak to you in vision, in dreams. I'm not saying that. But all your visions and all your dreams and all the opening of the eyes to see whatever you are seeing is within the confines of the what? Of the book. We are saying this because men are claiming things around us that is outside the book. And when we want to inquire, they say forget it. God is giving me an extra biblical revelation. Nothing like that. And for such a man, resist him. I didn't ask you to go and fight him because the way you are clapping hands, I'm very suspicious. Praise the Lord. But that he discovered it. But let me say that it is hear the Lord, hear the Lord. Why he even put it in the volume of the book. I look at, I think it's Proverbs. Proverbs, is it 28? No, Proverbs 25 verse 2. Proverbs 25 verse 2. Says something. I wish you had it immediately to read. But the old King James again. Proverbs 25. I think it's 25, isn't it? Have you seen it already? Okay. It's the glory of God to conceal a thing. But the honor of kings to search out a matter. Are we together? It's the glory of the Lord to conceal a matter. Let me say it quickly. Let me say it quickly because and I'm so very happy because it looks as if our royal fathers that are here, the Bible says you will have revelation. You will discover the will of God for yourself, for your life while you are on the throne. It is the glory of the Lord to conceal it. But it is the honor of the king, even if he's a physical king now, you'll fit into his house. That nobody should come on the throne without knowing the counsel of God for that purpose. God has decided to put his counsel for each and every one of us. In the volume of the book because it is his glory. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to keep it, to preserve it. The counsel of God for each and every one of us is so precious even to the heart of God. That he didn't throw it as it were in the sand for anybody to trample upon it. He conceals it. By yesterday we saw that God said he is willing, isn't it? He is willing to show us his own counsel. To show us abundantly. His counsel, he is willing. But you see the preciousness of it makes him to conceal it, to keep it. Look, if you have a treasure, if you have something important. Let me even think of the will the fathers make, draw out for their children. Let me ask you, is it kept carelessly? Is it kept carelessly? Does the father go on the radio announcing it? That look I'm going to die and this is the way for each of my children. Is that how it is handled? Do you think it is sealed? It is sealed up and kept in very same hands. Only to be unveiled at the right moment. And God say it is his own glory to do that. But because each and every one of us has a position before the Lord. He say it is our honor to find it out, to seek it out. I'm saying this because I want you to know that each and every one of us can discover. And there is a particular thing God would want you to do. Yet it is established, it is kept there, it is really concerning you. And it will be discovered as we are noting, as we spend quality time with the Lord, with our father. Can I point you to Mark chapter 4? Mark chapter 4 for you to note that God is willing. In Mark chapter 4, there is in verse 21, 22, 23 and maybe 24. He say, and he said unto them, is a candle brought to be put under a bushel or under a bed? And not to set on a candlestick? Okay, verse 22 say, and there is nothing heat which shall not be manifested. Neither was anything kept secret but that it should come abroad. Is that okay? There is nothing heat, nothing that God is keeping very safely for each and every one of us. That he does not intend to make it clear for you. Nothing. We are saying that each and every one of us can discover, can know. And we know as we press in, into this sweet fellowship with the Father. In order to discover the counsel of God for each and every one of our lives. So, because of our time, let's note in that verse, in that verse 7, that he say, Lord I come. And in the volume of the book is written, is written on me to do the will. It was written of the Lord Jesus Christ somewhere in the volume of this book to do his will. And what did he discover? We are noting that he came when he saw it, as he was going through it. It was not on the first page. It was not on the second page. It was not on the third page. It was not on the fourth page. It was not in the first book of the Bible. It was not. He had to search and search. Let's take where it was written concerning him. So that we can have some wisdom very quickly as we pray together. As we pray together this morning. God, we hope that each and every one of us will not be casual again with the book that he has put in our hands. Let me just say it in person. That it is you who may take this book, the Bible, very casually. Heavens and several other persons, they do not. Do you know I am told that the Muslims call Christians people of the book. Is that true? The people of the what? Of the book. They know that. So let's look at that Psalm where Jesus saw that this is written concerning me. And let's pray. Because men discovered the counsel of God over their lives. And how they discovered it is what we are quickly checking this morning as we pray. Can we look at Psalms? Psalms 40. Psalm 40. Psalm 40. Are we there now? Psalm 40. Where he discovered. Can we look at verse 6? Verse 7? And verse 8? Psalm 40. Let me just say in the context of what we know now. Of the Bible. And if it was, it's true that the Bible was not gathered. Was not put in this way that we have. Then it became, it's more serious in my own heart. But in the context of what we have of the Bible now, where it is gathered together for us. We are God. And we must just thank God for our own generation. We must praise God that he has done so much for us. That our father has gone before us, sat down. And went through all the writings that were there. And they could discern that this is divine. Let's put it together for them. And they could arrange the Bible that we can pick it in a volume. There was that volume in the heart of God. For all this while. But you know, I am told that it wasn't gathered like this. And of course, was scattered here and there. All these books of the Bible. Written at different times by different people. But you know this man, he surprised me. That you know that God will have them discover. The counsel over them. I see that, ah, the Lord Jesus. And all that went before us. They were reading all those scattered volumes here and there. Are you with me? Are you seeing the import? Maybe they say the book of Psalms is in one cave somewhere. And they will go to that cave to study it. The prophets, they are not in this other cave. They are in Otukwu. Are you with me? Ah, maybe the Genesis. Moses decided to keep it somewhere in the rocks in Joss. So when he said, look, it is written concerning me. Do you see that they study it? Are we together? And let me say what, and let me say that each and every one of us, God will have us to be that diligent. With the scriptures. For us, he has done so, he has helped us so much. It is gathered and put in our hands. Is that not so? And look at the many commentaries. Look at the way God has helped us. Our generation is very, very privileged. Do you know you can come on the pulpit now with a volume, a Bible, and all the verses are connected. Isn't it? All the verses under a topic are connected and you are taking and you are studying. That's a great help though. I wouldn't say the trap that is in it. But I'm just painting the help that God has decided for our own generation. To conclude therefore that if any of us does not put great diligence to discover and prove it for his whole life, what God has written concerning him, how it will not be the fault of heavens. But we must be quick here now. It says, verse 6, It says, sacrifice an offering that did not desire. My ears has that opened, burnt offerings and sin offerings has that not required. Then said I, lo, I come in the volume of the book is written of me. Amen. I just wanted us to note this. How did he discover? And the surprise that I have from this. This was written there before Jesus came. Is that not so? And let me tell you many, not that just the Lord Jesus Christ, many discovered this that is written concerning them this way. And each and every one of us that gets into the fellowship with the Lord, sitting at his feet. You must be diligent that this happens to you. As we read, as this is quoted in Hebrews. You know there was one thing that was missing in the quotation in Hebrews. Which happened to the Lord Jesus. Which must happen to each and every one of us. It says, sacrifice an offering that did not, that didn't desire. Are you with me? It says, my ears, have you what? Have you, has that opened? What happened? Because I am noting that this was there before Jesus came. And the other people read it again and again. Do you think the high priest never read this? I'm asking you. You think the priest, they never read it? They read it all. But something happened. The Lord Jesus said, look, as I came to eat, you did something to me. What did God do to him? He opened his what? His ears. He opened his understanding. Something just came. The spirit of the Lord came. And he was reading it. He became very clear to him. That people must have read this. It must have been written and it is their line, domain for all these years. But, it is this thing concerning me. It's me that this is addressing. Let me say, he didn't say, I opened my ears. But what happened? Who opened his ears? God. My ears, that has opened. That is the help. That is the divine help. That directs a scripture. That directs what is written concerning you. In the volume of the book. That as you come at it. Something just happens to you. And it has happened to many people. We don't have time to talk extensively. But, I wanted you to note. That it happened to many. Look at the book of Daniel. Look at Daniel. Before I come to the diligence that is required for this to happen to us. Can you look at the book of Daniel? And as you go home this time. You will not be casual with the book. Neither will you leave the place until something happens to you. Amen. Look at the book of Daniel. It says, in the first year of Darius, the son of Asiris. Daniel chapter 9. Sorry, sorry. I'm very sorry. Daniel 9. Are we together? Daniel chapter 9. Please come to it quickly. In the first year. Are we there? Can I go on? In the first year of Darius. The son of Asiris. Of the seed of the Medes. Which was made king over the realms of the Chardians. In the first year of his reign. I, Daniel, understood by the books. The number of the years where of the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet. That he would accomplish 70 years in the solution of Jerusalem. I wanted us to see men that established the concept of God. First of all. They discovered that concept. Is that okay? Look at Daniel. He said. And he has given the date. He has given the time. That this concept came to him. He has dated it. In the first year of Darius the king. Isn't it? In that first year. It was that year. That I, Daniel. Understood by the books. And he particularly say he understood it. As he was reading the book of Jeremiah. Are we together? He, Daniel. Was reading the book of Jeremiah. Let me tell you. Was it only Daniel that read the book of Jeremiah? The book of that, that, that, that book of Jeremiah. Let me ask you. Don't you have it in your own bible today? Do you know it is the same book of Jeremiah. That you have in your bible. That Daniel read. And something happened to Daniel. You are not hearing me. Or you, you don't have a book of Jeremiah. Book of Jeremiah. That you are eating three square meals. And finding all the turkey legs. And all the big fish. And eating. I am not saying don't go and eat your turkey. But. The effect. Of the scripture of man. Those that God opened their ears. What you must cry and pray to the Lord. For that help to come to us. Anytime. That we are, we are, we are. We have come because. We are noting that to discover his counsel over our lives. It comes from here. But it can't be by casual. Attendance to it. Are we together? So. He said he read. And when he read, he just read. I don't know what happened. Whether the time that. The people should be out of. Slavery had passed. Or it was just getting near. I don't know. If I. Maybe I should have asked. What had happened. Whether the time had passed. Or it was passing. And then this man went and read. He we know. But all I know is that Daniel read that. And if we check where. The chapter that Daniel read. This is still in that Jeremiah. Is that not true? But when he read it. Suddenly. Say. So what is happening? His ears were open. Look at what he did. And I set my face. On to the Lord God. To seek by prayer. And by what? Supplication. With fasting and sackcloth. And ashes. When people hear it. I have not. I have not come to that. Yet. I will soon come to it. Amen. Let me just. Because. We must pray now. How did Jesus come to that? That his ears. Were open. I will take that. Because that. Is the. Psalms of Christ. Let me read it. For us to. Discover the diligence. I will take it from. The message. If you have the message. You can follow me. I thought to go to other. Examples for us to see. How they discovered. How that help came to them. But. I must quickly come back. And let's check. Some 40. How Jesus discovered. Some 40. When I am asking you. Are you there? I am not there. I just wanted to make sure. That I keep you busy. That is why I am asking you. Praise the Lord. How is. Are you. Are you there? Okay. Some 40. Look at the diligence. We are talking of quality time. Spent with the Lord. That makes a man. A man of the council. When he said. My ears that have opened. If you read. The verses that come before. To paint the picture. Of what. How he waited on the Lord. Until his ears were opened. You will see the diligence. That is there. So that if we went now to read. The injunctions of the Lord. Concerning how we must handle. The volume of the book. For us. For God. To help us. To paint the part. That God wouldn't have us. To be casual. With the Bible. Who would have noted. He say. Look at verse 1. Say I waited. I waited. This is talking about Christ. Isn't it? I mean. You know that some 40. The psalm of Christ. I waited. And waited. And waited. For God. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. We are talking of the time. Spent with the Lord. So that. That particular scripture. That particular thing. That is spread out for you. We become. Sealed in your heart. Established. As God opens your ears. So that you will know. There are. No one else. Is to stand in this. That mean. Daniel read Jeremiah. And his heart struck him. And he knew that look. I must be the one. To do something. About this. The Lord Jesus. As he waited on this. As he waited for the Lord. On this time. I want you to see. What he say. He say. I waited. For God. At last. He looked. Finally. He listened. That is. The message. Do you agree. That Moses could have said. The same thing. When he received the law. Could Moses have said. The same testimony. I waited. If Moses was saying this. Then it would have been. The first six days. Do you know. The first six days. He went up. To call in the Lord. Do you know. God never spoke to him. He just went there. For days. He was there. Not hearing anything. Nothing striking him. And yet Moses was there. And the Bible says. And I waited. And I waited. Let me say this. When you get to the Bible. And you read it. And no understanding came. What did you do immediately? What did you do? You closed the book. And you left. And you left. In fact. As far as you are concerned. God has not spoken. Spirotic man that we are. We just wonder. When we go. We kick God. And say. God I am here. Talk. And when he doesn't talk. We say. It's your business. I'm leaving you there. I waited. Look at. I say. Finally. He looked. Let me say the attitude of the Lord. So that. Each and every one of you. As you go. You will wait on the Lord. To establish the concept. For your life. Though God is high up there. The Bible says. However he looks down. On the sons of men. When you first knock. He doesn't look down. As that book is telling me. As that scripture. That version is bringing that sense. He said. I waited. And waited. And waited. He said. Finally he what? He looked. He looked down. Who is there? I see them. Pulling the strings. Who is there? Hallelujah. And they say. It's a. It's a. A maker that is there. Finally. He looked. Then. Oh. I wish we have time. Then. He what? He listened. He didn't listen. Before he looked. You were pulling the strings. Say. I am here. Lord. Lord. Then he came down. He looked. When he looked. And discovered. That is a correct one. Are you with me? That his heart. Is prepared to listen. That he's ready. Even to obey. That he doesn't want to say. I had my quiet time. And. So. It is quiet time. For quiet time sake. Then. When he saw him. And checked the heart. I wish I can. Show you how God checks the heart. First and foremost. And then. He say. Okay. Okay. Then he what? He listened. Then he listened. When he listened. What did he do? Huh? At last. He looked. Finally. He listened. And he lifted me up. Oh hallelujah. He pulled me from the deep. And he stood me up. On solid. What? Rock. Having time with the Lord. When you pull the string. He went there and checked. When he saw who you are. He opened the door. And then that sweet fellowship. With the Lord. And. He now say. Look. This is what is really. Concerning you. The Lord will do that to each and every one of us. But we are saying this morning. That it is not for a casual man. It's for a diligent man. And as we take this position. That God will open our ears. To hear him. And that when he has not spoken. We are not abandoning the place. We are pleading with the Holy Spirit. Until. He unveils. His will. And concern. Concerning us. Then we go out. As we are to do. We must establish. We must discover. The purposes of God. The counsel of God. For our lives. I pray that when we go back now. We will be there. That we have. Time with the Lord. Nothing will throw us out. Because. It's as we come. It's as we are diligent to read. I didn't have time to go to. Book of Joshua. It's as we are diligent to read. And to knock and knock. That he opens. And shows us. That which. Was pinned down. For you as an individual. To pursue. For your life. And to stand there. And establish it. ======================================================================== Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/gbile-akanni/dynamics-for-fulfilling-your-vission-title-1/ ========================================================================
