This morning, by God's grace, we'll be praying for the family. We'll be praying for the family. Let's open our Bibles to Genesis chapter 1, verses 26 to 31. Genesis chapter 1, verses 26 to 31. Then God said, let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. Let there be dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. And God said, see, I have given you every herb that yields seed, which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed. To you it shall be for food. Also to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food. And it was so. Then God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. This morning by the grace of God we will be seeing what the devil has done to the family. And what God wants us to do, to retrieve back the purpose of God. Now but today before then I want to bring up that it takes a family that carries the image of God to subdue and to have dominion. Because in verse 26 it says, let us make man in our image and according to our likeness. And then he went on and on and on. And then God blessed them, God said that you have dominion, God told them to multiply, and all of that. But it takes a family that carries that image, the image of the creator, to have dominion and to be able to subdue. Such a family will have the authority of heaven, divine authority that can subdue wherever. And I also saw that this cup is very very white. I kept seeing the word like every, every, every. If you look at verse 26 it says you have dominion over every creeping thing. 28 says every living thing. 29 says every tree, everything. I saw God's heart is very big concerning us. God's cup concerning the dominion, the kingdom is very white. Everything is given unto us. God wants us to have dominion over everything. Praise the Lord. And I also saw that anytime God is ready to do a thing on the earth, when he is set to do a thing on the earth, he comes to the family. Imagine that the whole creation was committed to the hands of a family, of a couple. After God has created the beautiful trees, the wonderful stars, the beautiful animals and all of that, the birds. God kept everything in the custody of the family. God was so magnanimous. He said this my people, this family, this couple that is bearing my image can take care of this. Anytime God is set to do a thing on the earth, he comes to the family. Remember in the New Testament, before the Lord Jesus could come to be born to the earth, before the Lord Jesus, the savior of the world could come, he had to look for a family. A family that would bear the holy seed. When the Israelites were locked up in Egypt, under the bondage of Pharaoh, God went round and round and round until he found a family. A family he could entrust that body unto. And I also see us as very privileged people, sincerely speaking. I thank God for granting us this wonderful and great privilege in our time. Because I also see that what God is doing with us now is also a beginning of something unique he wants to do on earth. And you and me will be part of it in Jesus name. The Lord has come. There is no lion that roars without seeing a prey. What God is doing with us now is like a preparation. God is preparing something for the earth. And he is preparing his people to be saved. So God deliberately came to the family. No wonder our leaders had to insist we must come as couples. The Lord will achieve that in our lives in the name of Jesus. I saw that when Christ wanted to start his work on earth, he also came to a family. At the inception of that family he did his first miracle. And we heard yesterday, the message that came to us yesterday emphasized so much on the importance of the family. God has placed a very high premium on the family. God is not joking about this matter at all. God is particular. We saw how yesterday the Lord took us through and God particularly told us You are all matrimony. God is particular about each of our matrimony. He knows us by name. He knew Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Eve. Mr. and Mrs. Zachariah and Elizabeth. And like that, and like that, and like that. So you too are in God's program. God is particular about you. God is particular about me. We will be praying, we will be asking God that that purpose, that reason that God has tied around my whole family will not be lost in the name of Jesus. There is a reason why God has called us as couples. God is particular, God is saying that there is something I want to do. And each family has a role to play. Adam and Eve had to play their role in creation. Jochebed and her husband had to play their role in the bringing forth of Moses who delivered the Israelites. Look at Zachariah and Elizabeth. They had to play their role in bringing forth John, the foreigner of the Lord Jesus. And look at Mary and Joseph. They had to play their role at their own time. There is something too that you have to play. There is a role you have to play at this time. May it never be lost in the name of Jesus. We are placed where we are placed because there is something God wants to do there. Are you in an office? Are you in a community? There is a reason. There is a particular reason God has on mind. We are not just here to exist, to live, to ride big cars, to live in big houses, go for programs, sing songs and then die. No, there is a reason. There is a reason. And it is careful to know that on that day each one of us will give account of that thing that the Lord has tied around your own home, around your own family. I wonder why God is so particular. You know, even when Christ was going to send out the disciples, he sent them out in twos. Am I correct? This matter of coupling is so important to the Lord. Imagine that even for God to preserve the creation after the flood, he made sure that every male and every female of every kind of creation were preserved. There is a reason why God has preserved you, why God has preserved me. The family is so, so important to the Lord. But the truth is that there are many attacks, many satanic attacks on the family because the devil also knows that that is where the matter is. Two are always better than one, anywhere, anytime. So right from the beginning, the devil started such attacks. He cornered Eve and before we knew it, that purpose dropped from their hands. May God's purpose never drop in your own hands in the name of Jesus. Adam and Eve lost that thing, that unique thing. They were driven out like ordinary drunks from the garden. Oh, where the Lord has placed you, the Lord will have your reason to rejoice over you in the name of Jesus. So right from the beginning, we saw how the devil came attacking the family. The family has so much generated to what it is today. You now see countries legislating homosexualism. You now see many kinds of things happening. Terrible things, proper child upbringing has been thrown to the winds. Sexual perversion all over. All of this just to attack what the Lord wants to do. So we're going to pray this morning. We're going to pray that the Lord will help us to fulfill that purpose. And we're going to pray for families. Let's be open to Luke 19.13. Luke 19.13. It says, so he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minutes, and said to them, do business till I come. The other KJV version says, occupy till I come. Honestly, I see God repeating what he told Adam and Eve to us at a time like this. That we need to occupy till he comes. And I took particular note of the fact that there were ten. Maybe five couples, I don't know. But again, it emphasizes to me that God has a purpose for the acts. Occupy till I come. We're going to be praying for our families this morning. We're going to pray that the Lord will raise strong families that can combat the devil at the gates. That your family and my family will be weapons in God's hands to put the devil to shame even in our national life. Imagine the kinds of things going on in the nations and in the nations of the world. As if the family has no value. Many family values have been thrown to the winds. We're going to pray this morning that the Lord will arise afresh. We were told yesterday that the Lord is ready to visit us afresh. Am I correct? God is going to inject freshness into our homes. Fresh love, fresh affection, fresh understanding of the purpose of God. Many people live without a purpose in life. They just live to enjoy themselves, to exist and to go. But we are seeing God coming afresh. That there is a reason for which you have been made where you are made. There is a reason for money that man you married. That woman you married. There is a purpose of God. And God is still waiting. God is still expecting. God is believing that you will not allow that purpose to be lost in the name of Jesus. That's going to be the center of our prayer this morning. That God will come to us afresh. God will raise families. God will make our families so strong. That the purpose of God that is looming upon the earth will be fulfilled in the name of Jesus. Let us pray. I want you to pray for yourself. First we are seeing that the family is so important to the Lord. And this cup is so white. Oh, have you discovered that the devil is attacking your family? That purpose, that reason for which God called you. For which God made you marry that woman. For which God made you marry that man. Have you discovered it? First we are going to pray for ourselves. Please pray for yourselves. Pray for your home. That your own home will not lose out in this purpose of God. Pray for your home, pray for your family. Say, Lord, please don't let me lose out. That purpose, that reason, that is tied around my life, around my home. Lord Jesus, please let me discover it. Bring me into it. Don't let it get lost. Have mercy upon me. Imagine if Mary and Joseph had been careless. Maybe Christ would have come to another family. The privilege of being the parents of the Savior of the world wouldn't have been theirs. Imagine if Zachariah and Elizabeth had been careless. And of course at that point they were almost becoming careless. But the Lord came to tell you how important. Imagine the mother of Moses. If the parents of Moses had been careless. Maybe the deliverance of the people of Egypt or the people of Israel would have been delayed. Maybe they would have stayed longer in Egypt. Imagine that the testing of many lives are hanging around your family. And you are still delaying. Maybe you have not discovered it. Can you pray this morning? Lord please have mercy upon me. Have mercy upon me. What is that purpose? What is that reason? A lot of lives, a lot of people have been wasted. Because many homes, many families have not discovered God's purpose. There your neighbor that just died. Maybe God was waiting for you to speak to him or her. There your colleague in the office that just slipped into hell. Maybe God was depending on your family to speak to him or her. The purpose of God in the nations is hanging on the families. When you give account of how you handle your own family life. Have you forgotten that the day of reckoning is coming? When it goes to be open to show how you handle your own family life. Can you pray to God this morning? Lord please have mercy upon me. In the name of Jesus. Now we are going to pray for Christian homes. Christian homes in our nation. We were told yesterday that the Lord is going to inject freshness into our homes. Because of this purpose. I want us to lift up our voices and cry to the Lord concerning Christian homes in this nation. Let's start from the body of Christ. Lord let Christian homes be Christian homes indeed. Families strong enough to show for Christ in every dimension. Lord please have Christian homes in our nation. Everywhere many Christian homes need help. Help from the Lord. Please pray that the Lord will come to our homes. Let there be freshness. Let there be health. Let the Lord come afresh to homes. Many homes are quaking. Foundations of many homes are shaking. Please call. We now hear of people, ministers talking about divorce. This is not part of the life of Christ that we have learned. Can we pray. Oh Lord please come to Christian homes. Come to Christian homes. Have mercy upon us in Nigeria. Have mercy upon us. Come to us oh Lord. Let's pray for Christian homes in our nation. Oh yes. If the Lord makes our families strong. We will do a lot of extra for the Lord even in this nation. Our national life has suffered so much. So much. Because of the family life. We were children all over the streets. Terrible things happening all around the country. Just because of the family. Let's cry to our Lord. Lord please come to us afresh.
