======================================================================== (GENESIS) GENESIS 1:24-25 by J. Vernon McGee ======================================================================== Summary: The sermon explores God's creation of living beings, the unique status of humanity, and the implications of sin on our shared existence. Duration: 1:08 Topics: "Genesis", "Creation", "Human Ancestry" Scripture References: Genesis 1:24 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ J. Vernon McGee discusses the creation of living creatures on the sixth day as described in Genesis 1:24-25, emphasizing God's intentional design in creating animals according to their kinds. He highlights the distinction God makes between animal life and humanity, pointing out that all humans are ultimately related as descendants of Adam and Eve. McGee reflects on the implications of this shared ancestry, particularly in the context of sin, suggesting that all humanity is united in its fallen state. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ And God said, this is the sixth day now, Let the earth bring forth the living creatures after his kind, the cattle, the creeping thing, and beasts of the earth after his kind. And it was so. God made the beasts of the earth after his kind, his filial, and cattle after their kind, everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind. And God saw that it was good. Now, God separates animal life, plant life from man, because we'll see that God says, Let us make man in our image. We want to look at this creature God made, because he happened to be your great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother here. And he's mine also, and that means that you and I are cousins. Maybe not kissing cousins, but that means the whole human family is related. And since Adam fell, we are related. We are brothers really in sin. That's the picture of man we're going to see in Genesis. ======================================================================== Audio: https://sermonindex1.b-cdn.net/8/SID8490.mp3 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/j-vernon-mcgee/genesis-genesis-124-25/ ========================================================================
