======================================================================== TWENTY-EIGHTH DAY: 'MY CUP RUNNETH OVER.' by J. Wilbur Chapman ======================================================================== Summary: A Christian's life should overflow with God's power and blessings, touching the lives of those around us and making us a blessing to others. Topics: "Christian Living", "Abundant Life" Scripture References: Psalm 23:5, Psalm 139:23, John 10:10, Ephesians 3:19 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ J. Wilbur Chapman emphasizes the importance of not only having a fullness of abundance in our lives but also an overflow that blesses others. Just like the showers that fall on the highest mountains should flow into the lowest valleys, our lives should overflow to touch the lives of those around us. Chapman reminds Christians that while being assured of entrance into heaven is significant, being a blessing to others is equally important, as it is the overflow of our lives that impacts our friends and family. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "HE had not only a fulness of abundance, but of redundance. Those that have this happiness must carry their cup upright, and see that it overflow into their poor brethren's emptier vessels." "The showers that fall upon the highest mountains should glide into the lowest valleys." The fact that you are a Christian may without doubt assure you a safe entrance into heaven, but it may not mean that you are much of a blessing to your friends about you. God makes the life to overflow, that other men's lives may be touched with your power. For it is only the overflow of your life that proves a blessing to your friends and kindred. It is the overflow of the Nile that makes the valley of the Nile fruitful. SUGGESTIONS FOR TODAY. 1. Remember that it is one thing to have life, but quite another to have the life more abundant: which have you? 2. God has certainly promised you that you may have both. See John 10:10. Claim that promise now. 3. If there is no overflow, it must he because some obstacle is between you and him. Ask him to search you and make the work complete. 4. Trust him to fill you and to keep you filled. ======================================================================== Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/j-wilbur-chapman/twenty-eighth-day-my-cup-runneth-over/ ========================================================================
