Duration: 6:36 Topics: "True Discipleship", "Persecution Faith" Scripture References: Matthew 16:24, John 13:14, Acts 1:8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This sermon emphasizes the importance of true discipleship and genuine witness for Jesus Christ, highlighting the story of a martyr who praised God even in the face of severe persecution and death. It challenges believers to move beyond superficial faith and empty words, seeking a deep, sacrificial love and devotion to Jesus, willing to serve others selflessly and share the Gospel boldly with both the small and great. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ He put out his hand, said, Release my hand. And he wrote on the flyleaf of his Bible, If Jesus Christ could die for a sinner, And in the midst of his sufferings, he was praising God. They cut off his tongue, And yet with that injury, he still maintained a glowing, praising countenance. And died. But the precising priest or lama, the judge, He said, What did this dead man write, or the dying man write? He read it. And then read the New Testament. He became the next martyr for Jesus. My dear friends, Our sickly kind of poor witness, He does no justice at all to Jesus Christ. Friend, Believe me, I too am guilty. Can you and I say, We continue to this day, Witnessing both to the small and great. Until they fall before the nail-pierced feet of Jesus. May God have mercy on you and me. That we may not be just as kind of chatterboxes. Full of hot air. No real love or devotion. As strangers to New Testament discipleship. May God save us from that false tense. Let us pray. Let us pray. O Lord our God, We don't want to be false professors. Looking for an easy ride and a comfortable way of life. Find sponsors giving us this and that. Lord God, Jesus, the maker of heaven and earth, died for me. Whatever can I ever do to repay Him? My debt of love. O my Father, We don't want false Christianity. Forgive us, O Lord. Give us a new heart. True discipleship. We want to be your faithful witnesses. Come wind, come weather. We want to be true to you, Lord Jesus. Witnessing both to the small and great. Washing our brother's feet. Loving the unlovely. Redeeming the lost. Save us from false deluxe discipleship. Now Lord, hear our prayer. And bless the people that are going. In Jesus' name. Continue in prayer. Those who feel lonely. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/2BBDO0GkgTI.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/joshua-daniel/paul-before-agrippa-part-8/ ========================================================================
