In Proverbs 28 verse 24 we read of a son, a son that robbeth his father and mother and then saith, it is no transgression, I have done no wrong, there is nothing wrong with what I have done, such is the way of an adulterous woman, an adulterous woman, she eateth and wipeth her mouth and saith, I have done no wickedness, I have done no wickedness, Proverbs 20 verse 30, and a thief, a thief is ashamed when he is found, Jeremiah 2 verse 26, a thief is ashamed only if he is caught, only if he is caught, the unjust knoweth no shame, there is no fear of God before his eyes, Romans 3 verse 18, there is no fear of God before his eyes, the fear of the Lord, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to depart from evil, to depart from evil is understanding, Job 2 verse 28 says, therefore get wisdom, get wisdom and with all thy getting, get understanding, get understanding, Proverbs 4 verse 7 says, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding, God now commandeth all men everywhere, all men everywhere, to repent, to repent, Acts 17 verse 30 says, that repentance, repentance and remission of sins, should be preached in his name, Luke 24 verse 47, but in that order, repentance before forgiveness, repentance before forgiveness, repent ye therefore, repent ye therefore and be ye converted, be ye converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that your sins may be blotted out, Acts 3 verse 19, to the adulterous woman, to the adulterous woman Christ said, go and sin no more, sin no more, John 8 verse 11, to the thief, to the thief he cries, let him that stole, steal no more, Ephesians 4 verse 28, repent, turn to God and do works, meet for repentance, do works proving repentance, Acts 2 verse 20, Acts 26 verse 20 says, bring forth therefore, fruits, meat for repentance, proving repentance, Matthew 3 verse 8, things that accompany salvation, Hebrews 6 verse 9, things that prove or the evidence of salvation, he that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy, I don't see anything else but that, for mercy, whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy, Proverbs 28 verse 13 says, except ye be converted, except ye be converted ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven, Matthew 18 verse 3 says, in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything nor uncircumcision, but a new creature, Galatians 6 verse 15, if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, a new creation, all things are passed away, behold look God says to anybody in the world that knows you, all things are become new, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17, just if any man be in Christ, if that didn't happen he is not in Christ, to men having eyes full of adultery, having eyes full of adultery that cannot cease from sin, 2 Peter 2 verse 14, Christ Christ, whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery, hath committed adultery with her in his heart, Matthew 5 verse 28, I made a covenant with mine eyes, I made a covenant with mine eyes, Job wrote in chapter 31 verse 1, he that shutteth his eyes from seeing evil shall dwell on high, shall enter heaven, Isaiah 33 verse 15, he that shutteth his eyes from seeing any more evil shall dwell on high, I have kept myself from mine iniquity, 2 Samuel 22 verse 24, I have kept myself from mine iniquity, keep thyself pure, keep thyself pure, 1 Timothy 5 verse 22 says, abstain from all appearance of evil, 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 22, hate evil, Proverbs 8 verse 13 says, abhor that which is evil, Romans 12 verse 9 says, depart from evil, Proverbs 16 verse 6 says, let every one, every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity, 2 Timothy 2 verse 19, be ye holy, for I am holy, be ye holy, for I am holy, 1 Peter 1 verse 16, holiness without which no man shall see God, Hebrews 12 verse 14, holiness without which no man, no man shall see God, walk worthy of the Lord, Colossians 1 verse 10, for you, being dead in your sins, hath he quickened having forgiven you all trespasses, Colossians 2 verse 13, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, Ephesians 1 verse 18, says the 2 verse 1, for you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein in time past he walked according to the course of this world, Romans 12 verse 3, in the lust of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh, verse 4, but God, God, verse 5, when we were dead in sins, when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us, hath given us life, but today, today I believe that there are tragically multitudes of professing Christians across the world who seek out and will only accept a church, denomination or movement that accommodates their compromises. Their rejections of many of the clear commandments demanded by God in the sacred book, for a man to be truly saved from judgment and hell, don't doubt this, there are multitudes of religious people who have no desire or intention of ever turning away from what God clearly condemns in the sacred book, and name sin and damns all who will not repent from them. Multitudes of religious people having a form of godliness, but denying, rejecting the power thereof. 2 Timothy 3 verse 4 and 5 say, they hear my words, they know my words, but they do them not, they do them not. Ezekiel 33 verse 32, that knoweth, knoweth to do good, but doeth it not. James 4 verse 17, who rejoice to do evil, and unite in the true witness of the wicked. Proverbs 2 verse 14, who knowing, knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are deserving or worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1 verse 32, lovers of pleasures, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, 2 Timothy 3 verse 4, but know thou, know thou that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment, don't doubt this now. God will bring thee into judgment for all these things. Ecclesiastes 11 verse 9 says, Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself, Psalm 50 verse 21, not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. But he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. Matthew 7 verse 21, Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves, James 1 verse 22, the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6 verse 9, They shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth. Revelation 21 verse 21, and this, this is the condemnation, this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, but men love darkness rather than light. Because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil, hateth the light. Everyone that doeth evil, that continues unrepentant, unrepentant of sin, hateth the light, God says. Neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3 verse 19 and verse 20 warns. For Christ will return in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel. 2 Thessalonians 1 verse 8, And his fearful voice will cry, He that is unjust, let him be. Unjust still. And he which is filthy, let him be filthy still. And he that is righteous, let him be righteous still. And he that is holy, let him be holy still. Revelation 22 verse 11, He that pursueth evil, that continues with evil. Pursueth it to his own death. That's eternal death contextually. Proverbs 11 verse 19. He that pursueth evil, pursueth it to his own death. Don't doubt this now. Don't dare doubt this. The wages of sin is death. God says. Romans 6 verse 23. The penalty, the result of unrepentant pursuit after sin, after you've heard the gospel and rejected it, it is eternal death. Eternal death. But the gift of God, the gift of God is eternal life. Eternal life through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Romans 6 verse 23. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation, a way to mercy, to receive total forgiveness. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood. Romans 6 verse 25. Being now justified by His blood. We shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5 verse 9. For the blood, the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1 verse 7. For by grace are ye saved through faith. Being justified through Him by grace through faith in His blood, in His death. Ephesians 2 verse 8. But I dare not stop there tonight. I dare not stop there. For there is also another great need to carefully address here, which is the dilemma of multitudes of people who truly seek God to save them in genuine repentance. And then experience inner peace and joy, and a radical change of heart in virtually all their values and pursuits. But then, then they are staggered and fearfully confused when they suddenly face strong, unknowing fear. Observing temptation again. And because of their newfound sensitivity and quickened conscience, they begin to face inner despair. And in their confused reasoning they begin to doubt and cry out, it didn't work. It didn't work. But I would ask them compassionately here tonight, what didn't work? What didn't work? Did you perhaps expect God to save you from more than He has promised? Oh fearful and confused soul, you must listen carefully now. God never promised, God never promised a salvation from temptation. He never promised a salvation from temptation. After you are saved, truly saved, you will be tempted by the devil till the day you die. He will continue to tempt you. Now don't doubt this. Jesus prayed to God the Father in John 17 verse 15, I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. That thou shouldest keep them from the evil, literally from the evil one, but contextually, from the devices, the attacks, the orchestrated wicked planning and the temptations of the devil. We need to take careful note here tonight. Having eyes, having eyes that cannot cease from beholding sin does not mean from actually seeing evil, seeing sin, or from being tempted by what you see. The first great lesson we all must learn after true salvation, the first great lesson we must learn after true salvation is that temptation is not sin. Jesus was tempted, like as we, it was our sin, the Bible says. He was tempted in all points, everything we face, Christ faced. That's beyond my comprehension, but God did that so he can be a high priest who knows what you are going through in a physical human form. He was tempted in all points, but temptation is not sin. Temptation is not sin. Now, we have to daily repeat that to ourselves until it becomes written across our minds on every single step we take where the devil could tempt us. Temptation is not sin. We have to repeat it and repeat it and repeat it until we can use it to resist the devil the moment there is temptation, to resist the devil and he will flee from you. God promises in James 4 verse 7, he will flee from you. Romans chapter 6 teaches us, commands us to yield not to temptation. Nowhere does it promise us that there is no temptation after salvation until heaven. But, when we are tempted, to yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin. Only then temptation is not sin, but when you yield to it, neither give place to the devil. Oh, one must be careful here. Don't invite him to hurt you. Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4 verse 24, sorry Ephesians 4 verse 27, make not provision for the flesh. Make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13 verse 14 says, you don't give place, you don't give the devil an opportunity. From now on flee, flee also youthful lusts. 2 Timothy 2 verse 22 says, abstain, turn away from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5 verse 22, all appearance from anything, avoid it, abstain. The places you know the devil will tempt you, avoid them. You don't have to go, and if you do, where there is temptation, God knows and He will deliver you. But you don't go, that we enter not into temptation as Matthew 26 verse 41. This entering into temptation, no temptation is not sin, but we enter in. Remember the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation. 2 Peter 2 verse 9 promises. Now the second great lesson we must learn after true salvation is found in Romans 12 verse 2. Be ye transformed, changed, radically changed. Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. And he grew up in a farmland, and this man Chris Kroonje was his name, a genuinely remarkable human being and a unique radical preacher that shook people to the core every time he preached, including me. Now Chris Kroonje shared of how when he was a young man, as a boy, as a young teenager, he saw the farm next door to him, to his parents farm, there was the son of that farmer who was his age. They grew up, but the difference was that farmer's son had a horse. Now it was a beautiful horse, but he, Chris Kroonje, didn't have one, and most certainly didn't have the means to get one, the finances. But he always looked at this young farmer, the neighbor farm, over the fence eventually where he saw him, and he envied that young fellow with that horse. He envied him. Oh, I want a horse. I want that horse. With the years went by, they grew up more. One day, this young man, he had enough money, personally, to go to that young neighbor farmer and say, I want to buy your horse. I'll give you anything. I'll buy it, but I need that horse. Well, the neighbor looked at him surprised and thought about it and said, okay, for that amount of money, you can have my horse. Now, he had the horse. What he had dreamed of for so long, he had. It was his. He takes it now. He goes home, saddles it, climbs on it, gets on his best clothes, and now very proudly, he takes the horse to town where he'd watched this other young farmer taken right down the streets in dignity. Now, he had the horse. Going down the street and people looking at him now with the new acquired horse, he was feeling very good, but something tragic happened that unnerved him. The horse decided to turn in toward where you tie the horse up, outside of this building. And he, what's this thing doing? I don't want to stop you. And so, he's trying to pick the horse. What's wrong with you? People looking at him, but the horse had to climb off as if he meant it. He made him climb on again eventually and get this horse going again. Down the street, now he's beginning to gain composure and suddenly the horse decides he's going to turn again. And he says, what's going on? This horse, no matter what he did, just determined he's going and he walks and stops in front of the next place. Now, he's losing his calm, taking this horse and what's wrong with you man? Hey, this happened again. Now, he suddenly began to realize this horse doesn't realize he's under new ownership. This horse is doing what he was used to do because that's where his former owner made him just go. Habitually, just know this is where we go next. And he had to get this horse to realize, to learn, there's a different owner here. You're under different leaning here. Now, we have to be careful. There is being transformed by the renewing of your mind. It's a discipline. It's not simply one little prayer. Be transformed, God says, changed. Change everything. There's a change of getting it through by the renewing. You see, a magnet can only be drawn or pulled to an object when it's brought close enough to that object. You have to get close enough to something you don't want to do to be drawn into it. That's where whatever habitual things you did before, when the temptation is there, you have them send. No matter what the devil says with the accusation of the brethren. Be transformed by this discipline. You change your mind. You don't go. You avoid places. You don't make provision for the devil or for the lust of the flesh. We walk down the street. We see something we didn't want to. In the shop window, years ago, they put them in jail for pornography. Today, it's just loose, suggestive wickedness. And we see this terrible photograph or suggestive photograph that we didn't want to see, whether it's a window in a shop or a magazine. Most people, when really young, would be too ashamed to even be caught with. But today, being legalized, no restrictions, nonetheless, you see this photograph. You didn't want to see it. And you're shocked when you think, oh my, what's happening to this country, to this world. They can do that, put up such a suggestive photograph of a woman. So, you're shaken, but you go further. You go to work, still shaken. But somewhere along the line, it comes back, what you saw in your mind. And of course, the devil will say, why are you thinking that? Why are you, why does it come back to your mind? But you've got to remember that memory is not sin either. God doesn't erase memory. There are thoughts of evil, and they are evil thoughts. Be careful, we have to bring every thought into captivity before it becomes sin. It's not sin, it's the thought. God doesn't erase memory at any point. What do you see? The devil might bring back, but that doesn't mean, you see, you've got to bring into captivity every thought, God says in Colossians 3, unto obedience of Christ. You've got to reject that thought. The thought life. Do not let thoughts of evil become evil thoughts. They're very different. Don't let the devil accuse you. Don't let your own inner conscience accuse you of something you're not guilty of. You haven't sinned because you have memory. Because things come back in your mind of the past, things may, but that doesn't mean you've got to bring it into captivity, just like you've got to turn away from anything of the past. Don't go anywhere near anything that could draw you back. Oh, if I'm saved, why do I have these evil thoughts I've heard from so many people? Well, because memory is not erased. But just remember, you haven't sinned because you have memory. You haven't sinned. The mind will reject these things in times of temptation. Colossians 3, verse 91, verse 1, which says, He that dwelleth, that's a lovely word, dwelleth in the secret place, the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty, will remain under the protection of God Almighty. Verse 3, He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, from the traps of the chapper. Of course, the chapper to us as Christians is the devil. But for that to happen, or deliverance, we have to do this abiding in a secret place as much as possible in our lives after salvation. Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. It's very important. Matthew 26, verse 41. Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation, lest ye enter into temptation. Mark 14, verse 26, of the same words. Watch ye therefore and pray always. That's a staggering statement. That doesn't mean you stop life, hide away, hibernate in a monastery or something and say, oh, we're going to know. But the discipline of habitual abiding in Christ wherever possible, commuting, but especially in the morning, quiet time in the evening, where we enter into the presence of God to such a degree. So we now shall win the word of God and in prayer that we walk with God. As a result of the meeting, the union, the communion with God begins through a quiet time, the constant communion with God, and we walk out of that quiet time, but find it through the day. So we have to watch and pray always. Luke 21, verse 36 says, praying always. Ephesians 6, verse 18 says, continuing instant, continuing wherever possible, wherever possible. In prayer, Romans 12, verse 12, pray without ceasing. That doesn't mean you stop life and don't speak to anybody because you're speaking to God. No. That isn't sin. It isn't sin to stop and work. But while you speak, I have often been in conversations with a lot of people in a room, and I'm more in communion with God than anybody else in that conversation. And nobody knows that. But I have to be. Without ceasing, you pray. 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 17 says, you see, he that dwelleth, that remains constantly, wherever you have a choice, in the secret place of the Most High. Psalm 91, verse 1 says, abide in me. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not. Don't doubt this. 1 John 3, verse 6, abide in me. John 15, verse 4, this is the most important lesson of Christianity. Daily, till the day you die, it has to be disciplined and fulfilled. Whosoever abideth in him is a communing with God, sinneth not. 1 John 3, verse 6. Therefore walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. That's a wonderful promise. Walk in communion with God, beginning with the quiet time, which enables you through the day. You walk in the Spirit, in communion with God, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5, verse 16 promises this. We are called to discipline ourselves to a life of habitual prayer, of habitual communing. Communing, a communion with God, that ye enter not into temptation when it comes. Luke 22, verse 40. Pray, he shall deliver thee. Psalm 91, verse 3. If you fulfill that, from the snare, from the trap of the fowler, we know that's the devil, from the trap set by the devil, Satan will do anything to try and trap us. He sets traps, we don't know where they are, but suddenly they are. But God knows how to deliver the godly out of the temptation to fall into that trap. He knows our past weaknesses, the devil. He knows every one of us. My weakness might not be yours. And he hopes something he orchestrates in his devices and evil planning, and he can, will somehow lure us to be drawn, to linger, to give place, to give opportunity, rather than when we should have fled. From his temptations, from things of the past in our nature. Terrible thought. Anyone who falls into sin, he is saved. Who falls immediately when there is temptation. Whenever facing temptation, he is tragically a man out of touch with God, full stop. No other reason, no other reason, who shall abide in him sinneth not. God promises. Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. These are promises from God. Now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, when he shall appear, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him that is coming. 1 John 2 verse 28 says. But right now, that's not the end. There's a final lesson. We read of that in 1 John 2 verse 1. My little children, these things write I unto you that ye sin not. And I think we've covered that clearly from what God says, that we don't sin. But then he says, in the middle of that verse, if any man sins. Not really a lot, as if we're just going to carry on like before, we were saved, sin, sin, sin. 1 John 3 tells us you're not saved. No doubt it. But to the saved, to the repentant, who abide in him, who find victory, who find that God is able to deliver. And he knows how to deliver. And he can and he will. And if we resist the devil, he'll flee from us. We'll experience that. If in the victory God has given you, somehow a failure comes. If any man sins, contextually any Christian sins, fall. Don't give up. Get up, God says. We Christians have an advocate with the Father. Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation, the way to God for our sins. Christians, not for ours, only for the sins of the whole world if they come to repentance. But after salvation, we don't and God doesn't want us to be lured into the traps. But he wants to deliver us and he will if we're abiding in him. And if this becomes our greatest habitual discipline of life, he'll deliver us, set us free, protect us from these traps that we'll not fall into them. He promises throughout the whole Bible to those who love him, that if on your road to the celestial city, having turned from the broad road that leadeth to eternal hell, a multitude which is dragged down by the chains of sin and slavery, straight to hell, falling and daily a new multitude, we've turned, we've repented, we've turned to the narrow road. Not the broad road. We're on that narrow road to the celestial city, shaved, repented, turned, set free from the chains of slavery. We're on that road to the celestial city. God knows the possibility of all hell coming against you. Satan has had six thousand years to know what to do, to try and tempt you. But if somehow you do, for God says, don't you give up now, you did repent, you did turn, you are saved. But if an isolated sin comes, through the onslaught of the enemy, you get up now, confess with your soul, not brazenly, but in humility and sorrow. But don't stay down, don't give up, just get up. Confess that sin. The moment you fail and look to the blood of Jesus Christ, God's salvation will continue. The present continuing is tense, not only at salvation, but right through. Not an excuse just to live in sin, but the way to find immediate forgiveness if you're saved, turned, repented, following God. The failure comes, you get up, get up. God promises forgiveness. We have not a high priest that cannot be moved with the feeling of our infirmities, our weaknesses, but within all points, tempted, like it or yet without sin. Whatever then has come boldly, not brazenly, but with faith and confidence, we're not suddenly unsaved. We're not suddenly back on the road to hell, no. That's of the day of the Lord. But we have the right to look to our Advocate, whoever liveth to make a decision for us, to God the Father, make we able to save them to the uttermost, who come to Him, to God's hope. Don't doubt this now. And always remember that salvation does not make you perfect. We all wish we could be. Have patience with yourself. God will. Why don't you? That doesn't mean relax. Paul wrote, not as though I had already attained, neither were already perfect. Now Paul says I'm not perfect. I haven't attained perfection. But I follow after, that I may apprehend that for which also I'm apprehended of Christ. Rather than I count not myself to have apprehended, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things that are before, I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. That's what we have to do. Don't let anything of the past cripple the future. We are called throughout the New Testament to endure. He that endureth unto the end shall be saved. And I can give you at least 20 other scriptures calling you to endure to the end. But are you saved? Or the religious lost? Or are you saved and confused? Truly saved, but confused. Are you saved and in your confusion tonight you have grasped the great lessons we have to learn. We must learn and grasp by faith the promises God has given every one of us who are saved to walk in victory till that moment He takes us home for eternity. Amen. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/A0ChDWd47GY.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/keith-daniel/the-unjust-know-no-shame/ ========================================================================
