======================================================================== (THE CHURCH IN THE LAST DAYS) 10 - BABYLON by Milton Green ======================================================================== Summary: The sermon warns against the dangers of false teachings and the importance of returning to God's Word in the last days. Duration: 38:22 Topics: "Spiritual Renewal", "Gods Wisdom" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In this sermon, the preacher emphasizes the importance of the Word of God and its impact on our hearts. He encourages the congregation to allow the Word of God to cleanse their hearts and remove any negative thoughts or influences. The preacher warns against selfish ambition and boasting, reminding the listeners that true wisdom comes from Jesus. He also mentions the need to challenge old traditions and teachings when they conflict with the revelation found in the Word of God. The sermon concludes with a reminder to listen to all the tapes in the series in order to fully understand and receive the teachings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God, rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number 10 in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series, or to the tapes out of sequence, can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. Now, so Yet I didn't send them, or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit, declares the Lord. Now verse 35, and then one of them, you come, when somebody from Babylon comes home from a congregation, and hearing from God, a neighbor, come over and say, well, what did God say today? Wonder what they, how they answer that. They just, all they do is just boast and something, probably. I don't know. Look here at 35. Thus shall each of you say to his neighbor and to his brother, what is the Lord answered, or what is the Lord spoken? For you no longer going to remember the Word of God, the word, oracle of the Lord, because every man's own word, that's religion, will become the oracle, and you perverted the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God. Is that plain? And in a word, God gets perverted, because, look here, you get all your literature, and you start talking like you literature from Babylon. You just sound, and everything don't line up with your literature. Push it off a cliff. Then you're taught to reject the Word of God without examining it. Resist the Word of God, and then you talk to hate people you don't even know, that you merely heard about. Is that right? Now, let's go back to Jeremiah 5. Jeremiah 5. All right, Jeremiah 5. Verse 21. Do you not fear me, declares the Lord? Do you not tremble in my presence? Verse 23. But this people has what kind of heart? It's stubborn and rebellious, won't come to the light. They've turned aside and departed. They do not say in their heart, in their heart, in their heart, and give lip service. And the people that give lip service don't say in their heart, let us now fear the Lord, our God, who gives the rain, that's the Holy Spirit, in its season, but both the autumn rain and the spring rain, and boy, do we need it, who keeps for us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities or sins have turned these away, and your sins have withheld good from you. Now, that's what the God, God can't bless someone walking in rebellion to Him. Now, verse 26. Wicked men, that's terrors, are found among my people. They're just unevenly yoked. They, they watch like fowlers lying in wait. They set a trap. They catch men. Verse 29. Shall I not punish these people, declares the Lord, on the nation such as this? Shall I not avenge myself? An appalling and a horrible thing has happened in the land. Here's another horrible thing, an appalling thing, just like in Jeremiah 23. The prophets, or preachers prophesy falsely, or preach falsely, and the pastors just rule on their own authority. It's not God's authority, and my people just love it so. But what are you going to do at the end of it? Look back in verse 10. Go up through her vine rows, verse 10, back up to 10. Go up through her vine rows. Now, we're the vineyard. Do not execute a complete destruction, but strip away her branches, for they're not the Lord's. In other words, cut off all these branches. It's not the Lord's. Tree cutters. For the house, look in verse 12. They have lied about the Lord, that's tradition, and said, not he. Misfortune's not going to come upon us. We'll not see a sword or famine, and is that exactly what we saw over there in Revelation 18? No, sir, no sword or famine, no calamity can come on us, huh? And it's a dwelling place of demons. They don't even know it because all discernment's hidden from them. Amen? Now, in Jeremiah 6, in Jeremiah 6, verse 10, To whom shall I speak and give warning? 6 and 10, that they may hear. Behold, their ears are closed, and they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the Lord is become a reproach on them. They are offended by the word of God. And so Jesus becomes a stone and stone, and a rock of offense. Is everybody interested in what I'm saying here now? Ready? Now, if you're not interested in what I'm saying now, you want to sit there and listen to a demon, you might be on your way to hell. Once you learn to overcome that thing. Now, I see two or three just want to sit around here and let a demon talk. Now, won't you listen to what this word says since you're here? I'm talking about life. This is not babbling. It's easy to tell when somebody listens to a demon. And they're talking to you, folks, some of you, a few of you here. It breaks my heart. God wants you. You can get rid of those things. You'd be free from them. But resist them. And if you think about everything in this world going on, except this right here, that's how they send people to hell. Now, let me read this again. Whom shall I give warning that they may hear their ears are closed? That's what I just read when he wasn't listening. They cannot listen. Behold, the word of God has become a reproach on them. They have no delight in it. Now, verse 11. But I'm full of the wrath of the Lord. I'm weary. Withholding it in, pour it out on the children in the street, on the gathering of the young men, and to both husband and wife shall be taken, and the age and the very old. Does it say the wrath of God's gonna be poured out on people like this? Do you have any idea? When did God change? You see what I'm telling you, folks? But flesh doesn't like that. So we just have to, flesh has to leave that alone. Now, 13. For from the least of them, even to the greatest of them, everybody in their hearts are greedy for gain. The heart goes out the world, and from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely. 14. They heal the brokenness of my people superficially, while they tell them peace, peace, but there is no peace. Were they shamed because abomination is done? They're not even shamed at all. Don't even know how to blush. So they're gonna fall, fall away. They're gonna fall among those who fall. At the time that I punish them, they're gonna be cast down, says the Lord. Thus says the Lord, send by the ways where the good way, that's a word and covenant is, and walk in it. Don't analyze it. And then you're gonna find rest, and that's what Hebrews 3 and 4 we're commanded to do. You're gonna find rest or peace for your soul, which is your mind-willed emotions. But they're saying, we will not walk in it. And I said a watchman over you saying, you better listen to the sound of the trumpet. Is that what the Lord's saying today? You better listen to the sound of the trumpet. But they say, we will not listen to the warning. We will not walk in a word. So verse 18, Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. Hear, O earth, because I'm bringing disaster on this people, their doctrines and program, because to prove their plans, that's their doctrines and programs, because they've not listened to my words. And as for my law, they've rejected it. Amen? Do you remember, I don't want you to turn there, but do you remember that, how we read over in Romans 8, 14 and 13, that the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God, and if you're led by the Spirit of God, you put to death the deeds of the flesh? We also saw in that same chapter in Romans 8, verse 6 and 7, that for the mind, if you've got your mind or heart set on the flesh, rebellion, it's death working in you, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. Because if you've still got your mind set on flesh, it's hostile toward God, and you're not going to subject yourself to the Word of God. You're not even able to do so until you repent. And we also saw, and well, just quickly, I'm just going to read a little of it there in Jeremiah 8. I'm helping to show you these things before I can show you some things in Babylon. We'll have to look at a few of these things, so you'll clearly see what Babylon is. You're not having any problem getting an idea here, are you? Verse 3, Jeremiah 8, verse 3, "...and death will be chosen rather than life by all the remnant that remains of this evil family." And we see verse 5, "...why then is this people of Jerusalem turned away in continual apostasy?" There's a seat, they refuse to return, repent. I've listened and heard, they've spoken what is not righteous, preach another gospel or traditions. No man repents of his wickedness. In other words, they strengthen the hands of the one that's in chapter 8 through 32. They even encourage people. And so, no man repents of his wickedness, saying, what have I done? Everyone just turns to whose course? His course. They're like a horse charging into battle, even a stork in the sky knows her seasons. "...and a turtledove and a swift and a thrush observe the time of their migration." But my people, the ones that say they're my people, they don't know the ordinance of the Word of the Lord. And how can you say we're wise and the Word of the Lord is with us? Here's why you do it. Babylon, the lying pen of the scribes and writers, has twisted the Word and made it into a lie. Is that plain? Now, Jeremiah 2. Turn back to Jeremiah 2. Jeremiah 2. Now, let's just begin to look. You know what a defiled heart is, don't you? It's when it's divided. And that's why you have doctrines that encourage you to walk with a defiled heart. Before me, we see that in Mark 7 and Matthew 15. He said, you're worshiping me in vain because you're teaching doctrines and opinions of men. That's Babylon. That's a cup full of abominations. And you see it in verse 7, "...and I brought you into the fruitful land to eat its fruit and its good things, but you came..." What do you do? "...you defiled my land and my inheritance." You've made an abomination. Now, there is when you drink those abominations, it becomes abomination. Now, verse 8, "...the priest or preacher didn't say, well, where is the Lord? And those that handle the word of God don't even know me. The rulers also transgressed against me. The prophets, they preach by bail or idols. They walk after the things that do not profit." Look in verse 13. "...for my people have..." I wonder who we're talking about in all this. I wonder if Jesus has any part of this thing we're talking about. "...for my people have committed two evils. They have forsaken me, the fountain of the living water." Who is that? That's Jesus. "...they have forsaken me, the fountain of the living water, and have healed for themselves broken cisterns..." That's religious. "...broken cisterns..." That's a religious system. "...that cannot hold the word of God." Those old widened skins just can't handle it. I'm just going to tell you for sure, brother. I mean, the old widened skin. I don't believe you stretch and oil the old widened skin. I believe, brother, you throw it away and take on the new. Get you a new one. Amen? Because it says, "...do not be partakers of the old widened skins." Now, in verse 15. "...the young lions have roared at him..." They roared loudly. "...and they made..." You know who these lions are, don't you? That's the powers of darkness. "...they have made his land a waste..." What is the land right here? Right here. Your body. That's God's field. Your heart. "...his cities have been destroyed without inhabitants." Now in verse 19. "...your own wickedness or sin will correct you, your apostasy that has fallen away in the faith will reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is evil and bitter for you to forsake the Lord your God and the dread of me." The dread of God. See, God is supposed to be your fear and dread. The dread of me is not in you, declares the Lord. You don't have any fear of God. It's like a horse charging into battle. Now look at verse 31. "...O generation, heed the word of the Lord." Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say we are free to roam or do as we please? Galatians 5. I think it's... 16, 17. 17. It says that you may not do as you please. Now verse 32. "...Can a virgin forget her ornaments or her bride or her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number." Isn't that pretty plain? Look there in chapter 3, verse 3. "...Therefore the showers..." That's the Holy Spirit. "...have been with hell. There hath been no spring rain." Chapter 3, verse 3. There's no spring rain or latter rain. No showers of the Holy Spirit. Yet you had what kind of forehead? See that's what a harlot's forehead now. Are you seeing them babbling folks? Huh? See a harlot's forehead is the opposite from the mind of Christ. Are you seeing that? That's her mark. That's babbling's mark. She has a harlot's forehead and she's mother harlot because that's all babbling produces. People love the world and walk double-minded and defile. Because she gives them abominations and false doctrines and another Jesus to follow. And she's a dwelling place of demons. They're in torment. They're in mourning. And that's why there's sleep. Spirit of sleep. No discernment. That's why they're saying peace and safety. Yet you have a harlot's forehead and you refuse to be ashamed. In other words, repent. Now go back to Jeremiah 7 quickly. That's the defiled heart. We see it. Verse 2 is talking about standing in the Lord's house. Verse 3, amend your deeds. Verse 4, do not trust in these deceptive words saying this is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord. And then if you look there in verse 8, behold, you're trusting in deceptive words to no avail. And you ask the question, are these things going to be in your heart and mouth? Are you going to steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to idols, bail, walk after other gods, the powers of darkness that you've not known, then come before me, come and stand before me in this house which is called by my name and say, we're delivered. Folks, is this telling us something today? Verse 23. But this is what I commanded them saying, obey my word and then I'll be your God and you'll be my people and you'll walk in all the ways which I command you that it may be well with you. Yet these folks right here, Babylon doesn't obey or incline their ear, but they walk in what? They got their own plans and doctrines. They walk in their own plans and doctrines. It's in the stubbornness of the evil heart and they go backward, not forward. Is that right? Now look there in verse 28. We see that they shall say to them, this is a nation, they wouldn't obey the word of God, the word of the Lord their God, except correction, reproof, they wouldn't turn from the way, so truth has perished and it's being cut off from their mouth. If you don't enter into your heart, it's not going to come out of your mouth, is it? That's the foundment of the word. Now we see, look here, so if people, if God don't have somebody's heart, are they dead and God dying? I'm telling you, if you're not, I mean, if you're not, I mean, you're in rebellion to God in your heart, you're dead in the eyes of God. Amen? So, I mean, you're spiritually dead and you're physically dead. So look in verse 33. And the dead bodies of this people are going to be food for who? Birds of sky and a beast's fill, wonder who they are. They have the powers of darkness, no one's going to frighten them away because there's no covenant, there's no protection there. Then I'm going to make it, I want you to watch closely, then I'm going to make the cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem. Now, did we see this over in Revelation 18 a while ago? The joy and the voice of gladness are going to go, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, for the land will become a ruin. Now, did I tell you a while ago? Are you seeing what Babylon looks like now, folks? Are you seeing? Look at me. And then exactly what you read in Revelation 18, we're going back over, we're talking about Babylon. Folks, do you recognize any of these things today? Let me ask you over here. Do you recognize any of these things you're reading about in Jeremiah? See, folks, I could have gone on and I've shared Jeremiah, but I'll never stop sharing Jeremiah because that's my message, folks. I'm just repentant. And I'll never stop sharing it. So it's an amazing thing, every time I go back over it again, I see a lot more of myself. It's good to share it. Good to see it, isn't it? Now you all understand it. Folks, it didn't take much explaining for me to see this in the Word of God, does it? I think it's pretty clear, isn't it? Now, see, if you have a foolish heart, you just go ahead and drink some more out of that gold cup. You just go get your gold cup. Well, now, here's what he's saying. Here's what he's telling her to do. Now, he said, the voice of the bridegroom, the voice of the bride is going to stop. Now, back up to Jeremiah 4 in just a moment. Jeremiah 4. Now, what's the Word of God? What's it supposed to be doing to you right now, us going over this Word of God? Tell me. It's supposed to be what? What's it supposed to be taking out of your heart, folks? All this rebellion and everything. Isn't that precious? Now, let me ask you something, folks. Something like to tell you what time it is or you're going to be tired of something. I'm going to tell you something, folks. You know, if we do this thing right, we could stay here all night long. You'd just fly out here. Do you know that we could get before God and you could run a foot race? I don't know if there's anyone in town right here. If we'd kind of have that kind of love instead of listening to these lies up here. And that's why I wasn't trying to be unkind or anything to you people around here listening to those demons and things. But I sit on it and I've been watching it here and I thought I'd tell you something. Because, see, they want you to receive this. That's the reason they're talking to you. That's the reason they tell you. They remind you all the things you're going to be late for. You're going to be tired. You're not going to be tired if you listen. You're going to be tired if you let some demon talk you into it. And dread. Oh, I dread going to work tomorrow and everything. It's the truth. They talk to you up here. And then when you don't take it captive, they talk you into it and dread. And what do you do? You get to work and all hell's on you. Because you want to believe lies. You don't believe that you're strengthened in all power by the Lord. You can do all things. Now, I'm going to tell you something. I'm in a process. I haven't learned it all either. But I'm in a process of going to the light just as hard as I can, folks. One of these days I'm going to say, Walk like me. Like Paul does. I don't think. The Lord's changed my heart, folks. Just a short time ago, when I was last time I was up here. I'm not saying anything with any hostility here now. I want you to know that. But the last time I was here, it was that. I was hostile. I wasn't even aware of it. I wasn't even aware of it. Didn't change a word of God. But I tell you what, God is changing me. Beating the fire out of me. Folks, understand what we are. Now, I want to tell you something. Let me just stop and tell you. Look here, folks. Now, let me just tell you something. There's been tremendous deception through our ancestors by the power of the darkness. And now, the word's been hidden, and God's grace is with us. Amen? Amen. All right. Now, what this word, we're seeing in this word, that you've been walking in rebellion, we've been hating, we haven't been in love with one another, we've been walking in rebellion to God, and we've been walking after another Jesus. Now, what do you do when you see the light? And when you come, you come to the word of God, so we put this word of God before us. No man has to have any glory. We don't have to honor any man, but we're supposed to love and start walking in love. Well, what do you do when you walk in love? You get your mind off yourself. Now, that's what love is. The power of the darkness talks to you to keep your mind on yourself. That's the reason you stay tore up all the time. When your mind gets on helping other people and everything, that's where the joy and that's where the glory is. That's what it's talking about for lifting us forward. And that's why you rejoice always, and your mind's in agreement with the Lord. That's the reason it's to prove the Spirit. Amen? And so you take every thought captive to be a servant. Love! That's what it's all about. That's what we're talking about. Come the Lord, the whole heart is love. Amen? But I'm going to tell you what. Folks, we've been in a chain gang. We're overcoming some things. Let's don't act like everything's all right or we know anything. We don't have anything to brag or boast about except Jesus. Let's all get a little bit of truth here and get around and start getting lift up, get a little selfish ambition and bragging and boasting like we know anything. Chain gangs don't look too smart. Do they? Do you think a chain gang has a right to go out and condemn and destroy other people? Well, there's a lot of grace and mercy on us, folks. Now, so it says right there in Jeremiah 4 verse 14. It's telling telling this church that you better wash your heart from what? How do you wash your heart? Is this pretty plain? Wash your heart from evil, O Jerusalem, that you may be what? Now, let me tell you another part about it. Church, if you love me with all your heart, you'll come to the Word with the whole heart and then you love the Word more you do that rebellion so you'll let the Word wash you. That's the reason many of you have been sitting here getting freedom this week, you know. Because you love the Word more you do that rebellion in the world than things in the world. Amen? So you wash your heart. How long will these wicked thoughts are going to lodge within you? Now, let's say it again. Why does wicked thoughts lodge within you? Look at me, folks. Look at me. This is me not telling you you want to go to resist. Because these wicked thoughts lodge because you want to meditate on pride, ego, rebellion, unforgiveness, hate, self, I, me, my. They lodge there because your heart's not right. Wicked thoughts won't lodge there when you're in love. You hear me? I mean, and that's where we're in a positive. You don't want to get our mind and hearts off ourself and get it off the world. Alright? If it lodges within you, it's worth your heart that you can be saved. Amen? Look at verse 21. How long must I just keep seeing this Word of God? How long must I keep seeing this standard and keep hearing the sound of the trumpet? If you keep hearing the warning from God, how long do I keep on doing this? For my people are foolish. They've got foolish hearts and there it is. They know me not. They're lost. They're stupid children. They have no understanding. We know in 1 Timothy 6, 3 through 5, if you have another doctrine that does not conform you to God, that you're without understanding and you're deprived of the truth. They have no understanding. They know me not. They're shrewd to do evil of that scheming of the flesh, lust, but to do good. They don't know. Jeremiah 16. Jeremiah 16, verse 9. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I'm going to eliminate from this place before your eyes and in your time. What are you going to go and take away? There it is. The same thing as reading over Revelation 18, that whore, harlot, babylon. I'm going to eliminate from your eyes the voice of rejoicing, the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom, and the voice of the bride. There goes Jesus, the bride, and all gladness and gloom. Look at me, folks. Just look at me. Folks, when the powers of darkness come in with pride, ego, rebellion, hate, anger, irritation, murder, and so forth and all, they talk you into it. You know what you look like? There ain't no gladness there. Folks, do you understand this is what's happening across the land? Do you know those smiles are being wiped off the faces of people because of rebellion in their hearts? And you can tell by the expressions on their faces who's got them. Let's continue. Verse 10. He said, I'm going to eliminate all this. It will come about when you tell these people all these words that they will say to you, for what reason has the Lord declared all this great calamity against us? Now, what is our iniquity? What have we done? What is our sin which committed against the Lord? Look at all these good things we've done for you. We just want you to cooperate with us. Verse 11. Then you will say to them, It's because of your forefathers have forsaken me, your ancestors, declares the Lord. And you followed other gods and powers of darkness. You have served them and you bowed down to them. But me, they have forsaken and they have not kept my word. You, too, have done evil even more than your forefathers. Behold, you are each one walking according to the stubborn. You're walking stubborn, stubborn. You have a stubborn and evil heart. It's not a repentant heart. You don't listen to me. Look back in verse 4. They're going to die of deadly diseases. They'll not be lamented or they'll not participate in their sins. They'll not be destroyed by a plague. And their carcass is going to be food. Here they are. For the birds of the sky and the beasts of the field. There's your powers of darkness. There's the dwelling place of demons. You all listen to me. Let's go in verse 5. For thus the Lord do not enter a house of mourning or go to lament or console them, for I have withdrawn my peace from this people, declares the Lord. My loving kindness and compassion is gone from them. Look in verse 16. Behold, I'm going to send for many fishermen. Do you have any idea who these fishermen are? Can I go ahead and tell you? Boy, I wish I could have Habakkuk 1 and Acts 13 read it together sometime and see if you can figure out anything who the fishermen are. I put Hosea 4 with it. Behold, I'm going to send for many fishermen, declares the Lord, and they're going to fish for them. I'm going to send for many hunters. They're going to hunt for them in every mountain and every hill from the clefts of the rocks. Are you all seeing that? For my eyes are on all their ways. I see everything they do. And they're not hidden from my face nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. You know what the eyes of the Lord is. It's the Spirit of God. Jeremiah 25, Jeremiah 25. Jeremiah 25. I want you to get a good look at this so when we go back, when we go through these scriptures about Babylon you see what we're talking about. Jeremiah 25, verse 4. And the Lord has sent to you all, Babylon, I'm telling you, you see up there we, the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. Well, let's look at verse 4. And the Lord has sent to you all his servants, the prophets again and again, and you've not listened and you don't incline your ear to hear saying, turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're going to die. to die. Turn there or you're going to die. Turn there or you're going to die. The earth mourns and withers, twenty- four four. The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, exalted of the people of the earth it just fades away. We are talking about the last days. The earth is also polluted by transgress laws, they have violated statutes, broken everlasting covenants that I'll That's a type. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are what? They are burned, there's your fire, and few men are left. The new wine mourns. You know the new wine, what it is, don't you, the Word of God? The vine decays, the vine is not hooked into the vine, the right vine, all the merrymaking signs, there's the joy and gladness gone. The gaiety, there's the gladness of the tambourine ceases, the noise of revelers stops, the gaiety of the heart ceases. They do not drink wine with song, strong drink is bitter to those who drink it. Now it's just like Bob said, it's going to get worse and worse. The city of chaos is broken down, every house is shut up so that none may enter. There is an outcry in the streets concerning the wine, the Word. All joy has turned to gloom. The gaiety of the earth is vanished just slowly right now, happening fast. Do you all notice that last year I often remind people, do you ever go back to your hometown and see the people you used to laugh a little bit and smile a little in the face? See how much laughing and smiling is going on now. See, folks, you're in the very last days. Verse 12, desolation is left in the city. There is abomination that makes desolation. You know what the city is a type of. The gate is battered to ruins, that's a church gate, Babylon's gates, and thus it will be in the midst of the earth upon the peoples as the shaking of the olive tree, there's your earthquake it's talking about, as the gleanings when the great harvest is over. Look at verse 17, tear a pit and snare, confront you, O one, heaven and the earth. Now the tear of pit and snare, the power of the darkness of your hearts, not in the word of God, they've got you. Then it will be that he who flees or report a disaster will fall into the pit. He who climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare, for the windows above are opened and the foundations of the earth shake. That is, I'm sure there will be some natural things, but I'm going to tell you something. We're talking about spiritual things right now. Folks, one last thing, let's turn to Isaiah 47. Are you beginning to see some things? Huh? Now Isaiah 47, Isaiah 47, now verse 1, come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, you're in a ground, you don't have a throne, O daughter of Chaldeans, for you shall no longer be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones and grind mill, make your own bread, remove your veils, strip off the skirt, there's the harlotry, uncover the legs, cross the rivers. Your nakedness or lostness is going to be uncovered, your shame also is going to be exposed, and I'm going to take vengeance, does God say he's going to take vengeance? See your shame has been swept, and it's not going to spare a man. Isn't that interesting? And verse 5, let's look in 4, Our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts, is his name, the Holy One of Israel. Who's the Redeemer? Jesus. Sit silently now and just go on in the darkness, there's a spirit of sleep. O daughter then of the Chaldeans, for you will no more be called the queen of the nations, for I am going to destroy her. Look in verse 7, Yet you said I shall be a queen forever, is that what we read in Revelation 18? These things you did not consider, you didn't remember the outcome of them. And verse 8, Now then you hear this, you sent your one who dwells security, you've got this false security, and you're saying in your heart, in your heart, in your heart, I am, and there's no one beside me. Now we saw that in Zephaniah 2.15, you know, when we read the same account. If you want to write it there, I shall not sit as a widow, I can't be lost, no calamity come on me, I shall not know the loss of children, no calamity or curses and things like that can come on me, but these two things shall come on you suddenly in one day. There's going to be loss of children, there's a curse, and widowhood, which means lostness. They shall come on you in full measure in spite of your many sorceries, in spite of the great power of your spells. And you just felt secure in your wickedness because you have a false security, just write, you felt secure, just write false security because that's what Laodicea is, you felt secure in your wickedness and you said, no one sees me. Your wisdom and your knowledge, they've deluded you, for you've said in your heart, your heart's lifted up, now this is Satan right here, I am and there's no one besides me. In other words, you're not walking in love, you're living for yourself. Verse 11, but evil come on you, but you're not going to know how to charm away, that's the power of the darkness, and disaster is going to fall on you, but you cannot atone and destruction is coming on you, but which you do not know, you don't know about it, because all these things are going to come on you suddenly, amen? Now that's just a little bit to show you the church of the last days, Babylon, the whore harlot, she has a harlot's forehead, she looks like a lamb, but she speaks as a dragon because she speaks from a devout heart, amen?
