CONTENT

7 verse 7. Paul says, what should we say then? Is the law sin? God
forbid. And then he said, nay, I had not known sin but by the law. Paul
said, I didn't know what sin was until the law told me.

In Galatians 3 24, wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to
Christ that we might be justified by faith. So the law doesn't justify
us, it just leaves us guilty before the judgment bar of Almighty God.
And sadly, around the turn of the century, it seems the church as a
whole forsook the law as an instrument of driving sinners to the Savior,
as a schoolmaster to bring sinners to Christ.

So it had to find another reason for sinners to respond to the gospel.
And the issue the contemporary church chose is the issue of happiness.
Jesus became a life improver, the one who can give true peace, joy, and
lasting fulfillment.
