It explores the impact of our choices on Jesus and the continuous call of God to surrender and receive the Holy Spirit. The message encourages responding to God's voice by surrendering, obeying, and living out our identity in Christ, culminating in the call to get baptized and live a life aligned with God's will. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When God created us, Adam and Eve, it says he breathed into us and he said he made us in his own image. What does that mean? To me, very simply, God bent down and whispered into us and said, you're mine. But we didn't want that. We didn't want to be his. We said, God, you're nice, you're good, I appreciate you, I'll give you an offering, but not the best. I'll obey all the commandments, but I won't offer everything to follow you. I'll offer sacrifices to you, but I don't want you to be everything. And that's what death entered, as God promised, as God warned death entered into us that day, because we didn't want to hear that voice where God was saying, you're mine. But it didn't change God's heart towards us. Every single day, every single human being that has been in the mother's womb, God has bent down and whispered into that being, saying, you're mine, you're mine, you're mine. What if Adam and Eve, when they sinned, God still said, you're mine? What about when Abel killed Abel? You're mine. What about the five times divorced woman? You're mine. What about the Pharisee and the elder brother in the story of Luke 15? You're mine. The father goes out to meet the elder brother and says, that's the end of the story. I'm not deserting you, you Pharisee, you whatever it is, you're mine. We may not respond to it, but the words of God is saying, you're mine. Until, it was only one time, only one time, and to one person, God said, you're not mine. Only one time to one person. It wasn't to the five times divorced woman. It's not to the worst of the Pharisee or Pharisees. It wasn't to Judas. It wasn't to Peter. It was when our sins were laid on Jesus. That's when God told Jesus, you're not mine. That was the impact of my sins on the holy and blameless Jesus. God, the one time the angels couldn't understand the mystery and the majesty of the statement, when God said, you're not mine. He never tells us this, but he told Jesus that. You're not mine. As long as we're breathing, the eternal drumbeat of heaven is screaming out to you, you're mine, you're mine, you're mine. Hence the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. It's the kindness of God. It's the kindness of what Jesus did on the cross. As he paid that sacrifice for us, is what allows us, and it earned him the right, it earned him the right to breathe again into us and say, receive the Holy Spirit. Because that's what we were missing. We were dull of hearing the voice of God saying, you're mine. So what do we do now? We got to respond as we heard. We got to respond. How do you respond? Four year old boy, you're hearing this. This is the voice of God saying, you're mine. Like Samuel heard the voice of God. How do you respond? Very simply, ask your parents tonight. Is it really true that God is saying, you're mine, I'm his? That God's voice is saying, you're mine, you're mine, you're mine. That's the beat of heaven. If your parents can tell you it's true, respond very simply by saying, I'm yours. That's surrender. That is asking Christ into your heart. And Christ, by the authority of God's word, God says, you do that and the Holy Spirit will come into your life. No, no, he won't come in. He'll rush in. Like a rushing wind, the Holy Spirit comes in, just like Jesus breathed on the disciples. If I say, Lord Jesus, I'm yours. No conditions, no requirements, because of what you did. I'm yours. Surrender. The Holy Spirit rushes in. That's what we got to do to respond to Jesus. And the next thing, two things. One, say I'm yours. Teenager. God says that the world is trying to tell you, don't say I'm yours. But I'm full of sexual thoughts, thoughts towards women. You're mine. Listen to the words of Jesus. You're mine. But I'm a boy and I'm attracted to boys, not to girls. You're mine. Don't let the world define your identity as L or G or B or T or any other letter in the alphabet. Jesus says, you're mine. That's your identity. Your identity is not based on some letter in the alphabet or what the world tells you it is. Your identity is your mind. Lord Jesus, I'm yours. Step number one. Step number two, do the next thing. Do the next thing. Child, four year old child, you want to know what the next thing is? If your parents tell you this is what God is saying to you, you're mine. And you say, I'm yours. Do the next thing, which is obey your parents. Honor them. Respect them. Don't lie. Share your toys. Be kind in your words. Teenage boy, teenage girl. You say, I'm yours. Well, then get baptized. It's the first thing we do after we're born again. It's hand in glove with conversion. Get baptized. Send an email to your parents and tell your parents tonight. Is it really true that God is saying you're mine? Well, I'm ready to say I'm yours. There's no other condition for baptism. I'm yours, Lord Jesus. Well, then get up. Throughout the New Testament, it's connected with conversion. Get baptized. And then do the next thing after that, whatever it means. Saying no to sin, day after day after day, saying no to our sinful flesh. It's not a complicated life. Let the voice of God ring louder and louder. It's not that you're not tall enough to play basketball. It's not that you're not rich enough to get this job or this house. The voice of Jesus must ring louder and louder, just like the sun grows and becomes like the noonday sun saying, you're mine. You're mine. You're mine. One day we will see Jesus and we'll see and we'll know where fully is. Amen. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/4y47yXizsZg.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/sandeep-poonen/two-blessed-expressions-youre-mine-and-im-yours/ ========================================================================
