A heart filled with anger, bitterness, or resentment can lead to destructive behavior and damage relationships. Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:22 that uncontrolled anger can have serious spiritual consequences. According to 1 John 4:8, God's nature is love, and when we choose to harbor a bad attitude, we move away from His character. The Bible encourages parents in Ephesians 6:4 to raise their children in a nurturing environment, and for individuals to confess their sins, as 1 John 1:9 instructs, and trust in God's goodness, as Proverbs 3:5 advises, to cultivate a more positive and loving attitude.

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love. For he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
if all this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
