6 Bible Verses on Counselor

6 verses

In Scripture, God is often described as the ultimate source of comfort and guidance. Isaiah 9:6 foretells the coming of a divine King who will bring wisdom and guidance to His people. The New Testament reveals Jesus' promise to send the Holy Spirit as a Counselor, who will guide believers into all truth, as seen in John 14:16-17 and John 16:13. This promise is further expounded in John 14:26, where Jesus explains the Holy Spirit's role in teaching and reminding believers of His words. The apostle Paul also acknowledges God's role as the "God of all comfort" in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, emphasizing His ability to provide solace and guidance in times of need.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.
However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.
