In times of bereavement, Scripture offers comfort and reassurance to those who have lost loved ones. Jesus' words in Luke 9:59-60 remind us that our devotion to God should surpass even our earthly relationships, while 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 encourages believers not to grieve as those without hope. According to Romans 8:38-39, nothing, including death, can separate us from God's love, and in Luke 20:36, we are told that those who are considered worthy to attain the resurrection will be like angels. Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep.
