Scripture warns against supporting or condoning sinful behavior in others, as this can hinder their spiritual growth and accountability. In 2 Thessalonians, the apostle Paul instructs believers not to enable idleness, but rather to encourage diligence and responsibility. Similarly, Galatians and Ephesians emphasize the importance of personal responsibility and not supporting wrongdoing. The Bible also teaches that associating with or supporting those who promote false teachings can be harmful, as seen in 2 John, and that diligence and hard work are essential for a prosperous life, as noted in Proverbs. By avoiding enabling behaviors, believers can promote a culture of accountability and spiritual maturity.

We command and urge such people by our Lord Jesus Christ to begin working quietly to earn their own living. But as for you, brothers, do not grow weary in well-doing.
