5 Bible Verses on Father

5 verses

In Scripture, God is often referred to as the Father, emphasizing His loving and paternal relationship with humanity. As seen in Psalms 103:13, God's fatherly compassion and mercy are extended to all people. Jesus teaches in Matthew 23:9 that God is the one true Father in heaven, while 1 Corinthians 8:6 affirms that there is one God, the Father, from whom all things come. The Father's love and care are also demonstrated in John 10:28-30, where Jesus assures believers of the Father's protection, and in Ephesians 6:4, where fathers are instructed to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist.
And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
