12 Bible Verses on Following Your Heart

12 verses

The Bible teaches that the heart is a complex and often unreliable guide, as Jeremiah notes that it is "deceitful above all things and desperately wicked." Instead of following one's heart, Scripture encourages trusting in God's wisdom and guidance, as seen in Proverbs, which advises trusting in the Lord with all one's heart and leaning not on one's own understanding. Jesus also warns that the heart can be a source of evil thoughts and intentions, as noted in Matthew. However, when one's heart is aligned with God's desires, as described in Psalms, and focused on storing up treasures in heaven, as taught in Luke, it can be a source of joy and fulfillment.
