12 Bible Verses on Friends

12 verses

In the Bible, close relationships are highly valued as a source of strength, comfort, and spiritual growth. Jesus taught that the greatest act of love is to lay down one's life for another, as seen in John 15:13, demonstrating the depth of friendship He shared with His disciples. The book of Proverbs offers wisdom on the importance of friendships, noting that a friend loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17) and that one who has friends will be helped in times of need (Proverbs 18:24). Ecclesiastes and Proverbs also emphasize the benefits of companionship and the influence of good friends, as in Proverbs 13:20, where it is written that one who walks with the wise will become wise.
