10 Bible Verses on Living in the Past

10 verses

Scripture warns against dwelling on past regrets or successes, instead encouraging believers to focus on the present and future. In Isaiah, God commands His people to forget the former things and not dwell on the past, for He is doing a new thing. The teachings of Jesus, as recorded in Luke, also caution against looking back, while the wisdom of Ecclesiastes advises against saying "the former days were better." As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians, those in Christ are new creations, and in Romans, he urges believers to lay aside the works of darkness and put on the armor of light, living in the reality of their newfound life in Christ.
