In the Bible, a lukewarm spiritual state is one of complacency and indifference, where faith is neither hot nor cold. The book of Revelation warns against this condition, as seen in the letter to the church in Laodicea, where Jesus rebukes their lukewarmness, saying they are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm, and thus, He will spit them out of His mouth, as stated in Revelation 3:16. This spiritual lukewarmness can lead to a false sense of security, as warned in 2 Timothy 4:3, where people will gather teachers to suit their own desires.
