17 Bible Verses on Mary the Mother of Jesus

17 verses

In the New Testament, the mother of Jesus is portrayed as a humble and faithful servant of God. The Gospel of Luke records the angel Gabriel's greeting to her as "highly favored" and "blessed" (Luke 1:28), and her response of surrender to God's plan, "May it be to me as you have said" (Luke 1:38). Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, also recognizes Mary's unique role, calling her "the mother of my Lord" (Luke 1:42-43) and Mary acknowledges her lowly state, yet rejoices in God's favor (Luke 1:48). At the cross, Jesus entrusts Mary to the care of the Apostle John, demonstrating His concern for her well-being (John 19:26-27).
