16 Bible Verses on Mind

16 verses

The Bible teaches that our thoughts and attitudes have a profound impact on our relationship with God and our daily lives. According to Romans, those who set their minds on the flesh are at odds with God, while those who set their minds on the Spirit experience life and peace. As Colossians instructs, believers are to set their minds on things above, not on earthly things, and in Romans, Paul urges believers to be transformed by renewing their minds. Isaiah and 2 Timothy also emphasize the importance of a steadfast and sound mind, with God keeping in perfect peace those whose minds are fixed on Him, and giving believers a spirit of power and love, rather than fear.

Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We tear down arguments and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus:
Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
