11 Bible Verses on Moving on

11 verses

In times of hardship or transition, Scripture encourages believers to look ahead with hope and confidence. As Romans 8:18 notes, present sufferings are not worth comparing to future glory, and Jeremiah 29:11 promises a bright future for those who trust in God's plans. The apostle Paul models this forward focus in Philippians 3:14, where he presses on toward the goal of knowing Christ, and in Philippians 4:6, he counsels against anxiety. By fixing their eyes on what lies ahead and cultivating a spirit of love and sincerity, as Romans 12:9 advises, believers can move forward with faith and assurance.

I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.

Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.
“Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old. Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The beasts of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon. Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you. You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling— my refuge, the Most High— no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent. “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him. When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.
Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
