14 Bible Verses on Overcoming Temptation

14 verses

In times of trial, believers can find strength in God's promise to provide a way of escape. According to 1 Corinthians 10:13, no temptation is unique or beyond God's power to help us resist. By submitting to God and resisting the devil, as instructed in James 4:7, we can overcome even the most daunting temptations. The book of Hebrews reminds us that Jesus, our High Priest, was tempted in every way, yet remained sinless, and therefore is able to sympathize with our weaknesses, as seen in Hebrews 2:18 and 4:15. By walking in the Spirit, as Galatians 5:16 teaches, we can overcome temptation and live a life that honors God.
