The act of taking someone else's work or ideas and presenting them as one's own is strongly condemned in Scripture. Jeremiah 23:30 warns against stealing the words of others, emphasizing God's displeasure with such dishonesty. The eighth and ninth commandments, found in Exodus 20:15-17, prohibit stealing and bearing false witness, which can include misrepresenting someone else's work as one's own. In Ephesians 4:28, believers are encouraged to be honest and work hard, so they can share with others and bring glory to God, highlighting the importance of integrity in all aspects of life.

“Therefore behold,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words they attribute to Me.”
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, or his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.
Neither do we boast beyond our limits in the labors of others. But we hope that as your faith increases, our area of influence among you will greatly increase as well,
Pay everyone what you owe him: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the faithless destroys them.
In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity, and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed to have nothing bad to say about us.
Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse. A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father. He who increases his wealth by interest and usury lays it up for one who is kind to the poor. Whoever turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable. He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good. A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man with discernment sees through him.
Make every effort to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman who accurately handles the word of truth.
