In times of brokenness and despair, God promises to revive and renew His people. The prophet Joel speaks of restoration, where God will "repay" for the years lost to hardship and devastation. The Psalms express a deep longing for restoration, with David pleading for the "joy of his salvation" to be restored, and acknowledging God's guidance along the "paths of righteousness". Through Jeremiah, God declares His intent to "restore health" to the nation, and in Acts, Peter speaks of a future time of restoration, when all things will be made new.

that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
and if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
