10 Bible Verses on Satans Fall

10 verses

In the biblical account, a powerful angelic being, once beautiful and privileged, rebelled against God, leading to a catastrophic downfall. Ezekiel 28:13-19 and Isaiah 14:12-15 describe this being's original glory and subsequent corruption, while Revelation 12:9 identifies him as the serpent, Satan, who deceives the world. Jesus Himself alludes to this event in Luke 10:18, saying He saw Satan fall from heaven, and in John 8:44, He calls Satan a murderer and a liar, underscoring the evil nature that resulted from his fall. This tragic fall from heaven marks the origin of evil and opposition to God's will.

You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every kind of precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald. Your mountings and settings were crafted in gold, prepared on the day of your creation. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for I had ordained you. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the fiery stones. From the day you were created you were blameless in your ways— until wickedness was found in you. By the vastness of your trade, you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mountain of God, and I banished you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them deep into hell, placing them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;
Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

And he threw him into the Abyss, shut it, and sealed it over him, so that he could not deceive the nations until the thousand years were complete. After that, he must be released for a brief period of time.
