In the midst of life's uncertainties, Scripture offers guidance on ordering one's days and priorities. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us that there is a season for everything, and Proverbs 16:9 notes that, although we make plans, the Lord ultimately directs our steps. The Psalms, such as Psalms 90:12, encourage us to number our days and seek wisdom in how we allocate our time. By doing so, as 1 Corinthians 14:40 and Philippians 4:6-7 suggest, we can bring order and peace to our lives, trusting in God's sovereignty and provision.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to count as lost, a time to keep and a time to discard, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
