15 Bible Verses on Self Destruction

15 verses

Pride and arrogance can lead to a downfall, as warned in Proverbs 16:18, where it is written that "pride goes before destruction." The Bible teaches that a refusal to listen to sound doctrine and a desire for self-justification can ultimately result in spiritual ruin, as seen in 2 Timothy 4:3-4. Conversely, humility and a willingness to seek truth, as exhibited by the Bereans in Acts 17:10-11, can lead to spiritual growth and protection from self-destructive tendencies. The works of the flesh, listed in Galatians 5:19-21, can also lead to self-destruction if not surrendered to God.
