10 Bible Verses on Selfish Ambitions

10 verses

Human desires and ambitions can often be driven by self-interest, leading to conflict and harm to others. The Bible warns against such motivations, as seen in James 3:14-16, where selfish desires are contrasted with wisdom from above. In Philippians 2:3-4, believers are encouraged to prioritize humility and the interests of others, rather than their own selfish ambitions. Meanwhile, Galatians 5:19-21 lists selfishness as a work of the flesh, while 1 Timothy 6:10 notes that the love of money can be a root of all kinds of evil.
