13 Bible Verses on Suffering

13 verses

In the midst of trials and hardships, believers can find comfort in the promise that God is near and will ultimately restore them. According to 1 Peter 5:10, the Lord will perfect, establish, and strengthen those who suffer, after they have suffered for a little while. The apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:18 and Romans 5:3-5 that present sufferings cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed, and that suffering can produce perseverance and character. James 1:2-4 and John 16:33 also remind believers that trials can be opportunities for growth and that Jesus has overcome the world, offering peace in the midst of suffering.
