7 Bible Verses on Sufferings

7 verses

In the midst of hardship and trials, believers find comfort in the promise that their sufferings are not in vain. According to Romans 8:18, the present sufferings cannot compare to the future glory that will be revealed, while 2 Corinthians 1:5 notes that the sufferings of Christ are abundant in believers. The letters of James and 1 Peter offer guidance on persevering through trials, with James 1:2-4 encouraging believers to consider them an opportunity for growth, and 1 Peter 5:10 promising that God will restore and establish them after they have suffered for a little while. Hebrews 9:28 also reminds believers that Christ will appear again to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.

For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should entrust their souls to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
