11 Bible Verses on The Keys to the Kingdom

11 verses

In the biblical narrative, authority and power are entrusted to believers, symbolized by the possession of keys. Jesus confers this authority on Peter in Matthew 16:19, and similarly on the disciples in Matthew 18:18, signifying their role in binding and loosing on earth and in heaven. This concept is prefigured in Isaiah 22:22, where Eliakim is given the key to the house of David, and is further developed in 1 Peter 3:22, where Jesus is seen as having authority over all things. Through these scriptures, the Bible teaches that believers have been given spiritual authority to unlock the kingdom of heaven and advance God's purposes on earth.
