13 Bible Verses on The Poor

13 verses

The Bible teaches that caring for the needy is a fundamental aspect of a righteous life. In Proverbs, it is written that lending to the poor is a loan to the Lord, who will reward such kindness. The New Testament, particularly in 1 John and Luke, emphasizes the importance of generously sharing one's resources with those in need, as seen in Jesus' command to sell possessions and give to the poor. Additionally, Proverbs encourages charitable giving, stating that those who are kind to the poor will be blessed, while warning against ignoring their plight.
