8 Bible Verses on Tithing and Offering

8 verses

Scripture teaches that giving a portion of one's resources to God is an act of worship and obedience. In the Old Testament, the book of Leviticus establishes the tithe as a tenth of one's income, while Malachi urges the people to bring the full tithe into the storehouse. The New Testament, particularly in 2 Corinthians and the Gospels, such as Matthew and Luke, emphasizes the importance of generous and cheerful giving, with Jesus condemning the Pharisees for neglecting the weightier matters of justice and mercy in their zeal for tithing. This practice of tithing and offering is rooted in the understanding that all belongings come from God.
