14 Bible Verses on Work Ethic

14 verses

Diligence and responsibility in one's occupation are highly valued in the Bible. According to Colossians, believers are to work heartily, as if serving the Lord, rather than just their human employers. The book of Proverbs offers practical wisdom on the importance of hard work, noting that all hard work brings a profit, and that committing one's work to the Lord leads to success. Additionally, 2 Thessalonians and Ecclesiastes emphasize the importance of being industrious and making the most of one's time, for those who do not work should not expect to eat, and whatever one's hand finds to do should be done with all one's might.
