Psalms 30
BSA1 I will exalt [extol, magnify] You, O LORD [Yehovah, the self-existent God], for You have lifted [raised, drawn] me up and have not allowed [made, given] my foes [enemies, haters] to rejoice [triumph, gloat] over me. word study 2 O LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God] my God [the supreme Being, Creator], I cried [sent up my cry, called out] to You for help [in my time of need, for deliverance], and You healed [restored, made me well] me. word study 3 O LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], You pulled me up [rescued, brought back to life] from Sheol [the underworld, the grave]; You spared me [kept me alive, preserved my life] from descending [going down, falling] into the Pit [the abyss, the place of death]. word study 4 Sing [praise, give thanks] to the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], O you His saints [set apart ones, holy ones], and praise [give thanks, honor] His holy [separated, consecrated] name [character, reputation]. word study 5 For His anger [enduring but a moment, fleeting] is fleeting, but His favor [lasting a lifetime, for a life-time] lasts a lifetime. Weeping [remaining for the night, tarrying] may stay the night, but joy [coming in the morning, with happiness] comes in the morning. word study 6 In [times of] prosperity [success, well-being] I said, “I will never be [moved, defeated] [from my secure position] shaken.” word study 7 O LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], You favored me [showed me your grace]; You made my mountain [place of strength] stand strong [secure, unshakeable]. When You hid [turned away] Your face, I was dismayed [troubled, filled with anxiety]. word study 8 To You, O [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] LORD, I called [cried out, made supplication], and I begged [pleaded for, asked for] my Lord [the supreme authority] for mercy [grace, favor, acceptance]: word study 9 “What gain [profit, benefit] is there in my bloodshed [destruction, death], in my descent [going down] to the Pit [the underworld, place of corruption]? Will the dust [the grave, nothingness] praise You [declare Your truth, honor You]? Will it proclaim [declare, tell of] Your faithfulness [trustworthiness, loyalty]? word study 10 Hear [listen carefully, pay attention] me, O LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], and have mercy [show compassion, be gracious]; O LORD [the sovereign Ruler], be my helper [my assistant, my rescuer].” word study 11 You turned my mourning [sorrow, grief] into dancing [joyful celebration]; You peeled off [removed, loosed] my sackcloth [clothing of grief] and clothed me with joy [gladness, happiness], word study 12 that my heart [inner being, soul] may sing [make music, praise] Your praises [hymns, worship songs] and not be silent [mute, still]. O LORD [Yehovah, my Master] my God [Elohim, my Creator], I will give thanks [express gratitude, acknowledge] forever [always, eternally]. word study
