1 Chronicles 20

1 And the yeare folowynge aboute the tyme that kynges go oute a warre fare, Ioab caryed out the armye of the host, and destroied the countrey of the chyldren of Ammon, and went and beseged Rabah, and destroyed it. But Dauid boade at Ierusalem whyle Ioab smote Rabah, and destroyed it. 2 And Dauid toke the croune of their kynge of his heade, and founde therin the wayght of a talent of goulde, & there were preciouse stones in it, and it was set on Dauids head. And he brought out also the spoile of the cytye, whiche was exceading much: 3 & he brought oute the people that were in it, and tamed them with sawes and harowes of yron & with brakes, and so dealt Dauid wyth all the cytyes of the children of Ammon. And Dauid, and all the people came agayne to Ierusalem. 4 After that there arose warre at Gazer wyth the Philistines. At whych tyme Sobocai the Husathite slue Saphai, that was of the chyldren of Raphaim, & they were subdewed. 5 And there was battell again wyth the Philistines, and Elhanan the sonne of Iair slue Lahemi the brother of Goliath the Gethite, whose speare was lyke the beam of a weuer. 6 And there chaunsed yet agayne warre at Geth, where was a man of a syze with .xxiiij. fingers & toes, six on euery hand, & syx on euery fote, & was the sonne of Haraphah & defyed Israel. 7 And Iehonathan the sonne of Samaa Dauids brother slue him. 8 These were borne of Haraphah at Geth, and were ouerthrowen by the hande of Dauid and of hys seruauntes.
