Mark 4

1 And again He began to teach by the seaside. And there is gathered to Him a very great multitude, so that He, having entered into a boat, was sitting in the sea; and all the multitude were by the sea on the land. 2 And He taught them many things in parables, and said to them in His teaching, 4 fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured it.} 5 where it had not much earth; and straightway it sprang up, because of not having depth of earth;} 9 And He said, 10 And, when He was alone, those who were about Him with the twelve asked Him as to the parables. 11 And He said to them, 13 And He saith to them, 16 , who, when they hear the word, straightway with joy receive it;} 17 temporary; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, straightway they stumble.} 21 And He said to them, not, that it may be put on the lampstand?} 22 made secret, but that it should come to light.} 24 And He said to them, 26 And He said, 30 And He said, ?} 31 to a grain of mustard, which when it is sown upon the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are upon the earth,} 33 And with many such parables He spake the word to them, as they were able to hear . 34 And without a parable He spake not to them; but privately to His disciples He explained all things. 35 And on that day, when evening came, He saith to them, 36 And, leaving the multitude, they take Him with them, as He was, in the boat. And other boats were with Him. 37 And there arises a great storm of wind, and the waves were beating into the boat, so that the boat was now being filled. 38 And He Himself was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion; and they awake Him, and say to Him, “Teacher, is it no concern to Thee that we perish?" 39 And, having been roused up, He rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And He said to them, 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, “Who, then, is This, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
