Luke 11

1 And as He was praying in a certain place, as soon as He had done, one of his disciples said to Him, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples. 2 And He said unto them, when ye pray, say, in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done as in heaven also upon earth;} 4 indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil “} 5 And He said unto them, 9 I tell you, Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.} 11 a fish, will he instead of a fish give him a serpent? or if he ask for an egg,} 13 heavenly Father give the holy Spirit to them that ask Him?} 14 And He was casting out a demon, and it was dumb: and when the demon was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. 15 But some of them said, He casteth out demons by Beelzebub the prince of demons: 16 and others, to try Him, desired of Him a sign from heaven. 17 But He who knew their thoughts, said unto them, 19 people cast out? wherefore they shall be your judges.} 21 when a strong well-armed defends his palace, his substance is secure:} 22 and conquers him, he taketh away his armour, wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.} 24 places, seeking rest: and finding none he saith, I will return into my house, that I came out of;} 26 seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.} 27 As He was speaking these a certain woman lifted up her voice from the croud, and said, Happy the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou didst suck! 28 but He replied, they, that hear the word of God and keep it.} 29 And when the multitudes were gathering thick together He began to say, 31 judgement against the men of this generation and condemn them: for she came from the remote parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold a greater than Solomon here.} 32 the men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgement against this generation, and condemn it; for they repented upon the preaching of Jonas, and behold a greater than Jonas here.} 33 no one having lighted a candle putteth it into a secret place, nor under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.} 34 is bad, thy body also is dark.} 36 light, having no part dark, it will be ( all enlightened) as when a candle giveth thee light by brightness.} 37 And as He spake, a certain pharisee asked Him to dine with him: and He went in and sat down 38 And when the pharisee saw he wondered that He did not wash first, before dinner. 39 But the Lord said unto him, 40 Did not He who made the outside, make also that which is within? give alms rather according to your ability:} 41 are clean to you.} 42 mint, and rue, and all herbs, and pass by judgement and the love of God: these ought ye to practise and not to omit the others.} 44 are not aware } 45 And one of the doctors of the law answered and said unto Him, Master, saying these thou reproachest us also. 46 And He said, 49 of them they will kill and persecute:} 50 shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah,} 53 As He was saying these unto them the scribes and pharisees began vehemently to attack Him, and urge Him to speak of many 54 laying snares for Him, and endeavouring to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse Him.
