Matthew 5

1 And seeing the multitudes He went up to a mountain, and when He was set down, His disciples came to Him, 2 and He opened his mouth and taught them, saying, 3 the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.} 4 they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.} 5 the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.} 6 they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be satisfied.} 7 the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.} 8 the pure in heart; for they shall see God.} 9 the peace-makers; for they shall be called the children of God.} 10 they, who are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.} 11 ye when shall revile and persecute you, and utter all manner of reproach against you falsly, for my sake:} 12 your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets, before you.} 13 and trodden under foot.} 14 situated on a hill, cannot be hid.} 15 light a candle, to put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick: and then it giveth light to all in the house.} 17 } 18 not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from the law, till all be compleated.} 19 teach men so he shall be esteemed very little in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do as well as teach he shall be accounted great in the kingdom of heaven.} 20 of the scribes and pharisees, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.} 23 against thee;} 24 first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.} 26 last farthing.} 28 to lust after her, hath already debauched her in his heart.} 29 if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one part of thee perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell:} 32 marry her that is divorced, he committeth adultery.} 36 white or black:} 37 } 39 smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also:} 40 would go to law with thee, to take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also, } 41 shall force thee one mile, go with him two.} 46 them that love you, what reward do ye expect? do not even the publicans the same?} 47 do not the publicans so likewise?} 48 as your Father in heaven is perfect.}
