Romans 14
Worsley1 Receive him that is weak in the faith, not to disputes about doubtful matters: 2 for one believeth that he may eat any another, who is weak, liveth upon herbs. 3 Let not him, that eateth, despise him that eateth not; and let not him, that eateth not, censure him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? To his own master he standeth or falleth: yea, he shall be established; for God is able to establish him. 5 One preferreth some days to others; another esteemeth every day Let every be fully satisfied in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth a day regardeth to the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard . he, that eateth eateth to the Lord; for he giveth God thanks and he that eateth not to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no one dieth to himself: 8 but if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this Christ both died, and rose, and lives again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 10 But why dost thou censure thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? since we shall all stand before the tribunal of Christ; 11 for it is written, I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So that every one of us shall give an account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, not to lay a stumbling-block or scandal before a brother. 14 I know and have been taught by the Lord Jesus, that nothing unclean of itself: only to him that thinketh any unclean, to him unclean. 15 But if thy brother be grieved by food, thou dost not herein walk in love. Do not by thy food destroy him, for whom Christ died. 16 Let not your liberty then be evil-spoken of: for the kingdom of God consists not in meat and drink; 17 but righteousness and peace, and joy in the holy Ghost: for he, 18 that in these serveth Christ, is acceptable to God, and approved by men. 19 Let us then pursue peace, and mutual edification. 20 Do not for the sake of meat destroy the work of God: all indeed pure; but to the man that eateth with offence evil. 21 good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor at which thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or weakened. 22 Thou hast faith, have to thyself before God: happy he that condemneth not himself in what he alloweth 23 But he that hath scruple, is condemned if he eat; because not with faith: and whatsoever not of faith, is sin.
