Context — The Temple’s Interior
19Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.
20The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar. 21So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.Cross References

1 Kings 6:19 Summary
This verse tells us that Solomon prepared a special room in the temple called the inner sanctuary, where the ark of the covenant would be kept. The ark was a symbol of God's presence and covenant with His people, as seen in Exodus 25:22. Just like the inner sanctuary was a sacred space, our hearts can be a sacred space for God's presence, as described in 1 Corinthians 3:16. By prioritizing our relationship with God and honoring His presence in our lives, we can experience the joy and peace of being in His presence, just like the Israelites did when they followed God's commands, as seen in Deuteronomy 29:9.
