143. After some Fatal Calamity.

Ant. In all our afflictions He was afflicted.

Haste Thee to help me, Lord God of my salvation. HAVE mercy, Lord, upon all those who have suffered in our recent affliction; supply their outward need, and grant that the present distress may awaken many to energy and love, so that we all, glorifying Thy holy Name, may experience in our sorrows the blessedness of His help Who bore our sorrows; and when this life of sorrows shall be ended, may commit our souls, along with all those whom we have loved, to Thy most holy keeping; through the same Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
