SOLOMON (peaceable), Israel’s third king, reigned forty years - Is spoken of as "the king and the king’s son " (Psalms 72:1-20). Type of the Lord in millennial peace and glory. The united reigns of David and Solomon are typical of the millennial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Christian reader will find it interesting and instructive to note that, as a rule, types bearing upon the system of glory to be set up in the millennium are presented in pairs as Joseph and Benjamin - union of glory and power; Melchizedek and Abraham - priesthood and successful conflict; David and Solomon - righteousness and peace.
