Massie

Massie, Richard, an Englishman, was born at Chester June 18, 1800, the son of Rev. R. Massie. He translated Martin Luther's Spiritual Songs, 1854. His Lyra Domestica, London, 1860, was translated from [90]Spitta's Psaltery and Harp. In 1864 he published a second volume containing more of Spitta's hymns and other translations from the German. He died March 11, 1887. He belonged to the Church of England.
