Borthwick

Borthwick, Jane, was born in Edinburgh April 9, 1813. In connection with her sister, [36]Mrs. Sarah Findlater, wife of Rev. Eric J. Findlater, she translated Hymns from the Land of Luther, 1854. Miss Borthwick not only translated many German hymns, but wrote a number of original poems. Many of them were collected and published under the title of Thoughts for Thoughtful Hours, 1857. She died September 7, 1897.
