Leonard Woolsey Bacon, Congregational divine, born in New Haven, Conn., 1830, He was educated at Tale, from which university he graduated in 1850. He has filled the position of pastor in many important churches and has done much theological and literary work. Among other things he edited Luther’s “Deutsche Geistliche Lieder” (New York, 1883), and wrote “History of American Christianity” (New York, 1897).
